Abstract:
A headup display apparatus consists of a projection optical system unit installed in the dashboard of a car and a reflection member on the windshield. The projection optical system unit contains an indicator and an off-axis reflective hologram which reflects display light of the indicator toward the windshield, which in turn reflects it toward the viewing point of a driver. As a result, the display is seen superimposed on the exterior view. When external light as from the sun enters the projection optical system unit traveling in a direction reverse to the path of the display light, the off-axis reflective hologram reflects the incident external light toward a direction different from that of the outgoing display light to minimize an abnormal illumination of the indicator surface which would otherwise render the display unrecognizable. Behind the hologram is installed a heat dissipating member that receives infrared rays that have transmitted the hologram in order to dissipate heat.
Abstract:
An electrical circuit is powered by a power supply. There is a first operating circuit which is always energized with electrical power from the power supply. The first operating circuit is operatively connected to a power reducing device. There is a second operating circuit which can, for example, operate the processing portion of a small appliance, such as an electronic calculator. The second operating circuit receives power from the power supply, but is not energized at all times. That is, the second operating circuit is energized with electrical power from the power supply when it is required to run the processing portion of the small appliance. When the small appliance is not run, the second operating circuit does not operate. There is, for an example, an ON/OFF switch on the electrical appliance, to turn the power supply on and off.
Abstract:
A manual-scanning image reader which optically reads image such as characters and figures from a written surface by a manual scanning over said written surface, which consists of the following parts; a sensor for detecting the amount of movement of the image reader in the scanning direction as a linear movement sensor, a sensor for detecting the amount of deviation of the image reader in the direction perpendicular to the scanning direction as a deviation sensor and a device for reading in image data synchronously with output signals from the linear movement sensor in order to correct the input image data according to the output signals from the deviation sensor before eventually storing it in memory.
Abstract:
The information searching apparatus in accordance with the present invention comprises: a memory device having a plurality of banks and containing a plurality of types of information data to be searched, as arranged in block; a table memory device containing, in table, the banks serving as the basis of the information to be searched, the number of changed banks and address data; and a table reading device for reading tabled information from the table memory device. This information searching apparatus is so arranged as to search the target information to be searched by obtaining the base bank information based on the tabled information from the table memory device, and by obtaining the number of changed banks and the address data of the base bank information. Further, this apparatus is arranged such that the user may learn synonyms and antonyms, or the translated terms, the phonetic symbols or the like of index words in dictionary data. Such data may be searched in a short period of time without any complicate operations, thereby to improve the learning efficiency.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a light emitting element, a light receiving element, a liquid crystal shutter array, and a circuit for driving the shutter array in a timesharing manner. The light reflected from a document is prevented from passing by the shutter array which is driven in the timesharing manner, so that the light receiving element can receive the light in the timesharing manner.
Abstract:
A battery charging circuit includes a thermostat for sensing the temperature of the battery as it is charged, a silicon controlled rectifier which when conductive enables charging of the battery and when non-conductive prevents charging of the battery, and a transistor for preventing the silicon controlled rectifier from returning to the conductive state after being switched to the non-conductive state. When the temperature of the battery reaches a predetermined level corresponding to complete charging, the thermostat switches the silicon controlled rectifier to the non-conductive state and enables the transistor to be turned on to prevent further charging of the battery after the temperature thereof falls below the preselected level.
Abstract:
An alignment mark having high precision and good visibility is formed in a simple manner without modification of a manufacturing line or a significant increase of man hours and a flat panel display is manufactured at low cost and with good productivity. To achieve this, the method includes a step of forming a photosensitive film on a substrate, a step of forming an alignment mark by exposing the photosensitive film by using an exposing mask, and a step of performing position alignment by recognizing the alignment mark in an undeveloped state of the photosensitive film.
Abstract:
A vacuum cleaner includes an electric motor for driving a rotational brush for brushing dust particles from a surface to be cleaned, an electric blower for generating a suction air stream for sucking in the dust particles, a dust chamber for collecting the dust particles therein, a motor controller for controlling the electric motor, an input controller for controlling the electric blower, a current detector for detecting a current flowing through the motor controller, and a temperature detector for detecting a temperature of the electric motor. If the temperature of the electric motor increases over a predetermined temperature value, the electric motor is stopped and the stoppage of the electric motor is detected by the current detector.
