Abstract: One form of a display device includes: an on-screen display (OSD) video generation unit configured to execute synchronization processing of synchronizing an OSD video with a synchronization signal of an external video while outputting the OSD video when the external video and the OSD video are displayed in a superimposed manner; and an external video processing unit configured not to output the external video during execution of the synchronization processing and to output the external video after completion of the synchronization processing. The videos are prevented from being distorted by not displaying the external video while displaying only the OSD video until the synchronization processing between the OSD video and the external video is completed, and flickering of the video is prevented by continuously displaying the OSD video and preventing a non-displayed black screen from being inserted at a moment when the videos are switched.

Abstract: A contact deciding apparatus includes: reference signal creating units that create first and second reference signals, with a sine wave, that have the same frequency as a detection signal output from a sensor unit, and are respectively in phase with and out of phase with the detection signal; a demodulation circuit that creates first and second demodulation signals by multiplying the detection signal respectively by the first and second reference signals; low-pass filters that extract first and second direct-current signals, which are respectively the direct-current components of the first and second demodulation signals; and a contact deciding unit that makes a decision about contact according to the first direct-current signal. The contact deciding unit decides that the connection state between the sensor unit and the detection circuit is abnormal when the first and second direct-current signals change in the same direction and normal when these signals change in opposite directions.

Abstract: A first gate drive outputs a first drive voltage to turn a first transistor on upon occurrence of a condition in which a voltage at a supply terminal is higher than a voltage at a ground terminal, the output first drive voltage being higher than the voltage at the ground terminal. A second gate drive outputs a second drive voltage to turn a second transistor on, upon occurrence of a condition in which the voltage at the supply terminal is lower than the voltage at the ground terminal, the output second drive voltage being higher than the voltage at the supply terminal.

Abstract: A rotation angle detection device includes a current meter that measures a current flowing in a direct current motor; a filter that extracts a ripple component from the current; a ripple detector that detects a ripple from a signal that has passed through the filter; and a rotation angle detector that detects a rotation angle of the direct current motor based on the number of ripples. The rotation angle detector measures an observation period based on consecutive ripples, calculates an estimation period between the consecutive ripples based on the observation period, determines whether the observation period is within a normal range based on the estimation period and the observation period, and in response to determining that the observation period is within the normal range and an immediately-previous observation period is outside the normal range, calculates a number of correction ripples CRN so as to correct the number of the ripples.
