Abstract: A copper foil having a matte side with nickel plated thereon in an amount of nickel in the range of 100,000-300,000 μs/dm2. The plated copper foils have particular utility in Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) devices. The plated copper foils have a surface hardness of from 50 to 200, a tensile strength greater than 45 kg/mm2 and a shiny side surface roughness (Rz) not exceeding 2.0 μm. The surface roughness of the matte side of the copper foil is in the range of 6 to 10 μm. Copper nodules are present on the matte side of the copper foil between the copper foil and the nickel plating. Methods of producing the copper foil and PTC devices incorporating the copper foil are described.

Abstract: An electrolytic copper foil includes a copper foil body; and a IIA-group metal adhered to a surface of the copper foil body, wherein a signal strength of the IIA group metal is greater than 0.1% based on a signal strength of copper element as 100% analyzed by a secondary ion mass spectrometer. The present invention also provides a method for cleaning copper foil and a cleaning fluid composition which is used in the cleaning method.

Abstract: Provided are an electrolytic copper foil, an electrode and a lithium-ion cell comprising the same. The electrolytic copper foil has a first surface and a second surface, which are analyzed by grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD), and each have an intensity of a characteristic peak of (111) plane denoted by I1, an intensity of a characteristic peak of (200) plane denoted by I2, an intensity of a characteristic peak of (220) plane denoted by I3, an FWHM of the characteristic peak of (111) plane denoted by W1, and an FWHM of the characteristic peak of (200) plane denoted by W2. The first and second surfaces each have a ratio of (I1+I2)/(I1+I2+I3) of 0.83 or more and a value of (W1+W2) of 0.80 or less. By controlling the features, it can improve the corrosion resistance of the electrolytic copper foil and further increase the safety of the lithium-ion cell.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) resin composition, an EVOH film formed therefrom, and a multilayer structure containing the same. The surface roughness of the EVOH resin composition is the peak material volume (Vmp) between 0.0008 and 10 μm3/μm2. The EVOH of the invention can reduce the torque output during processing, and can obtain the EVOH film with excellent appearance.

Such surface-treated copper foils can be used as a conductive material having low transmission loss, for example in circuit boards.
