Abstract:
A microwave antenna having a curved configuration is described herein. The antenna portion is formed into various shapes whereby the antenna substantially encloses, by a partial or complete loop or enclosure, at least a majority of the tissue to be irradiated. When microwave energy is delivered through the antenna, the curved configuration forms an ablation field or region defined by the curved antenna and any tissue enclosed within the ablation region becomes irradiated by the microwave energy. The microwave antenna is deployed through one of several methods, and multiple curved antennas can be used in conjunction with one another. Moreover, RF energy can also be used at the distal tip of the antenna to provide a cutting tip for the antenna during deployment in tissue.

A method for filtering a table may include creating a filter in response to a user selecting data in a first table. The method may also include applying the filter to at least one other table in response to a user selecting at least one column in the at least one other table.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to devices and methods for the treatment of diseases in the vasculature, and more specifically, devices and methods for treatment of aneurysms found in blood vessels. In a first embodiment of the present invention, a two part prostheses, where one part is an expandable sponge structure and the other part is an expandable tubular mesh structure, is provided. In the first embodiment, the expandable sponge structure is intended to fill the aneurysm cavity to prevent further dilatation of the vessel wall by creating a buffer or barrier between the pressurized pulsating blood flow and the thinning vessel wall. In the first embodiment, the expandable tubular mesh structure is placed across the aneurysm, contacting the inner wall of healthy vessel proximal and distal to the aneurysm.
Abstract:
An RF coil assembly provides a source to generate a plasma inductively in a process chamber. The RF coil assembly includes an RF coil disposed about a perimeter of the processing chamber and a frame disposed about a perimeter of the processing chamber. The frame is adapted to support the RF coil in position. An interface material is disposed between and in thermal contact with the frame and a sidewall of the processing chamber. The interface material has a thermal conductivity of 4.0 W/mK or greater.
Abstract:
Various high-strength microwave antenna assemblies are described herein. The microwave antenna has a radiating portion connected by a feedline to a power generating source, e.g., a generator. The antenna is a dipole antenna with the distal end of the radiating portion being tapered and terminating at a tip to allow for direct insertion into tissue. Antenna rigidity comes from placing distal and proximal radiating portions in a pre-stressed state, assembling them via threaded or overlapping joints, or fixedly attaching an inner conductor to the distal portion. The inner conductor is affixed to the distal portion by, e.g., welding, brazing, soldering, or by adhesives. A junction member made from a hard dielectric material, e.g., ceramic, can be placed between the two portions and can have uniform or non-uniform shapes to accommodate varying antenna designs. Electrical chokes may also be used to contain returning currents to the distal end of the antenna.
Abstract:
High-strength microwave antenna assemblies and methods of use are described herein. The microwave antenna has a radiating portion connected by a feedline to a power generating source, e.g., a generator. Proximal and distal radiating portions of the antenna assembly are separated by a junction member. A reinforcing member is disposed within the junction member to increase structural rigidity.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for presenting portlets in a document. A set of portlets are presented using a single portlet window in the document. The portlet window includes a set of tabs used to manipulate the portlets. Responsive to a selection of a particular tab in the set of tabs, content for a particular portlet associated with the particular tab in the set of tabs is presented. Functions may be provided to manipulate the portlets in the portlet windows.
Abstract:
A system for monitoring compliance to a health care regiment of testing includes a wireless communication device for sending and receiving communication signals, at least one bio-sensor within the wireless communication device for providing a medical test of an individual in accordance with the health care regiment, a memory within the wireless communication device for recording test results from the medical test, a carrier network for receiving data from the wireless communication device that includes test results, and a service provider for receiving the data via the carrier network, the service provider analyzing the test results in view of the healthcare regiment to determine if a message should be sent by the service provider to a receiving device of at least one of a mentor and a healthcare professional for the individual.
Abstract:
A new or existing portlet queries the category attribute of other portlets on a portal page. The new or existing portlet may take a position adjacent to other portlets having the same category attribute. The new or existing portlet may adjust its size or one or more of the other portlets may adjust their size so that the portlets are aligned with one another.
Abstract:
Techniques are disclosed for controlling where dynamically-added content will be positioned within the layout of a content aggregation view (e.g., for controlling where content that is created by a portlet will be rendered within a portal page). In preferred embodiments, weighting values are assigned to the content, and these values are used to determine the content's relative placement. The values may be assigned at development time, at deployment time, and/or at run time. Using disclosed techniques, content placement is more predictable and consistent, and related content can be grouped together when rendered even though that content is not simultaneously rendered.
