Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products simulate a topology of a communications network. Devices communicating via the communications network supply configuration and performance data. A simulated view of a topology of the communications network may then generated.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products simulate a topology of a residential home network. The residential home network has a residential gateway and one or more devices communicating with the residential gateway. Each device may be queried by the residential gateway for configuration and performance data. A simulated view of a topology of the residential home network is then generated.
Abstract:
Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to trigger preemptive maintenance of vectored digital subscriber line (DSL) systems are disclosed. An example method includes generating a trouble ticket for a first subscriber loop based on a result of a diagnostic test, the diagnostic test being performed on the first subscriber loop when a value representing crosstalk coupling between the first subscriber loop and a second subscriber loop exceeds a threshold. The first subscriber loop and the second subscriber loop belong to a vectored group of subscriber loops contained in a same cable binder. The example method includes submitting the trouble ticket.

Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining data pertaining to a communication service facilitated at least in part by a first gateway located in a building, the communication service involving at least a first user equipment, analyzing the data to determine that a processing load supported by the first gateway exceeds a first threshold, wherein the first threshold is expressed as a function of a capacity of the first gateway, resulting in a determination, and based on the determination, performing an action that causes the processing load supported by the first gateway to be reduced to a level that is less than the first threshold. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a UAV communicatively coupling with a UAV controller over a first network, during a flight of the UAV, detecting availability of a device that is capable of providing network connectivity over a second network, based on the detecting the availability of the device, determining to communicatively couple with the device, responsive to the determining to communicatively couple with the device, submitting a request to the device for the network connectivity, and based on the submitting the request, establishing a communication session with the device to obtain the network connectivity. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
Optimal data packet size is identified to achieve a higher throughput a wireless communication network. For example, a system can comprise monitoring a transmit control protocol performance associated with a first transmission of data packets over a first duration of time, wherein a packet size of the data packets is a first data packet size, detecting that the transmit control protocol performance satisfies a function with respect to a threshold and in response to the detecting that transmit control protocol performance satisfies the function with respect to the first threshold, determining a second data packet size to use for a second transmission of the data packets over a second duration of time, transmitting a request to change the packet size of the data packets to the second data packet.
Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a processing system that performs operations including collecting encrypted network traffic flow data from user interaction with an application, deriving a first set of traffic feature vectors from the encrypted network traffic flow data collected, training a machine learning algorithm on the first set of traffic feature vectors to classify each traffic feature vector in the first set of traffic feature vectors as associated with a type of the application or not associated with the type of the application, and classifying whether an encrypted network traffic flow as the type of the application by applying the machine learning algorithm to a traffic feature vector of the encrypted network traffic flow. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device including a processing system including a processor and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, including monitoring network traffic to determine a transmission control protocol traffic pattern, determining a target video rate from the transmission control protocol traffic pattern, and modifying an over-the-top video delivery service network according to the target video rate. Other embodiments are disclosed.
