    Abstract: Cellular (e.g., LTE or UMTS) and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) based technologies can provide ubiquitous and seamless synchronization solution for LTE-based vehicle to everything (V2X) or Proximity Services synchronization (ProSe) services. For example, by using joint GNSS timing references and LTE cellular network timing references for V2X or ProSe system synchronization benefits of using GNSS technologies to improve synchronization procedure for LTE based V2X or ProSe services can be enabled, including: (1) accurate and stable timing, (2) availability of a global and stable timing reference and (3) ability to propagate GNSS timing by user equipment having sufficient GNSS signal quality.

    Abstract: Methods disclosed herein may include receiving, at a gNB from a UE, a minimum time gap between a reception at the UE of a configuring message that configures a sending of an SL transmission by the UE and the sending of the SL transmission. Alternatively, the minimum time gap may be measured from the reception at the UE of a DCI message that triggers an SL transmission and the sending of the SL transmission. The method may further include determining, at the gNB, timing information (e.g., an offset, or an absolute time) for the UE to use to schedule the SL transmission, the timing information based on the minimum time gap; generating, at the gNB, a message including a field indicating the timing information; and sending, from the gNB, the message to the UE. Analogous methods for UEs are also disclosed herein. Systems implementing these methods are also disclosed.

In response to losing a sidelink synchronization reference, sidelink synchronization tracking or performing an initial sidelink synchronization, data-aided sidelink synchronization can be performed by deriving or maintaining a sidelink synchronization from a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH), or a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) transmission of another network device, UE or vehicle to everything (V2X) based on data of another reference signal that is with the PSCCH or the PSSCH transmission.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems and methods associated with asynchronous synchronization reference source selection and reselection for wireless communication devices are disclosed herein. In embodiments, one or more non-transitory, computer-readable media having instructions stored thereon, wherein the instructions, in response to execution by a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to establish a sidelink connection with a first synchronization reference (SyncRef) UE, and monitor for physical sidelink broadcast channel (PSBCH) synchronization signals from a second SyncRefUE, wherein the UE is to drop one or more subframes of data reception of the sidelink connection with the first SyncRef UE when the UE monitors for the PSBCH synchronization signals.
