摘要: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for measurement of surface topography of a sample by using a scanning electron microscope, in which: secondary electrons released from the sample are detected by detectors which are four or an integral multiple of four in number and which are disposed above the sample to surround the sample; differential coefficients in two directions perpendicularly intersecting each other at the scanning point are obtained from the detected signals; the differential coefficients are successively summing-integrated along the two directions thereby obtaining surface topography of the sample; and at the same time the calculation expression for calculating the surface topography is corrected with the sample table inclined.

摘要: Method of determining stereoscopic geometry of an object through photometric stereoscopic measurement with high accuracy. Three or more images of the object picked up in a same fixed direction by varying the state of light sources are derived. Relationships among the images are corrected so that an evaluation function determined by making use of redundancy of the images assumes a minimum value, to thereby prepare a reflectance map to be used in determining orientations of surface elements of the object. Through integration of the orientations, the surface shape of the object is determined. The method is applicable to the image processing in a scanning electron microscope.

摘要: To provide a method of controlling a turbine equipment and a turbine equipment capable of carrying out a starting operation of controlling a load applied to a speed reducing portion while complying with a restriction imposed on an apparatus provided at a turbine equipment. The invention is characterized in including a temperature elevating step (S1) of elevating a temperature of a working fluid flowing to the turbine portion, a flow rate increasing step (S2) of increasing a flow rate of a working fluid bypassed from a delivery side to a suction side of the compressing portion when a temperature of the working fluid flowing to the turbine portion is elevated by a heat source portion, and a flow rate reducing step (S3) of reducing the flow rate of the bypassing working fluid after an elapse of a predetermined time period after increasing the flow rate of the bypassing working fluid.

摘要: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a structure for adjusting the positional relationship between an ultrasonic transducer and a blood vessel for measuring an elasticity characteristic. The apparatus includes an ultrasonic probe including a transducer for transmitting an ultrasonic wave and receiving the ultrasonic wave reflected by a tissue of a biological body; and a driving device for physically moving the transducer. For measuring the elasticity characteristic of the blood vessel, the driving device moves the transducer based on a control signal to change at least one of a direction and a position at which the ultrasonic wave is to be transmitted. A determination section specifies a position of the transducer at which the reflection intensity is maximum based on intensity information representing an intensity of the reflected wave. A calculation section calculates the elasticity characteristic of the blood vessel at the specified position.

摘要: After forming domain inverted layers 3 in an LiTaO3 substrate 1, an optical waveguide is formed. By performing low-temperature annealing for the optical wavelength conversion element thus formed, a stable proton exchange layer 8 is formed, where an increase in refractive index generated during high-temperature annealing is lowered, thereby providing a stable optical wavelength conversion element. Thus, the phase-matched wavelength becomes constant, and variation in harmonic wave output is eliminated. Consequently, with respect to an optical wavelength conversion element utilizing a non-linear optical effect, a highly reliable element is provided.
