    摘要: A method of configuring user equipment in a wireless communication network to operate to receive a dynamically changing coordinated multipoint transmission from one or more transmission point in said network, a computer program product and network control node operable to perform that method. The method comprises: determining, for the user equipment, a set of two or more transmission points from which the user equipment may receive a transmission and allocating them to a coordinated multipoint transmission measurement set associated with the user equipment; allocating a set of modes of operation of the transmission points in the coordinated multipoint transmission measurement set for communication with the user equipment; associating a codepoint to each mode in the allocated set of modes of operation of the set of transmission points to form a codebook; and informing the user equipment of the codebook. Aspects and embodiments described recognise that without significantly increasing the number of bits required in a downlink control information message, dynamic switching among some preselected or preconfigured coordinated multipoint transmission schemes can be efficiently supported within a network. The configuration of code points interpreted by user equipment may be set on a user equipment by user equipment basis and can be preconfigured by RRC signalling semi-statically.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for controlling service quality of data communications in a wireless network in which quality of service control for voice over internet protocol packets is provided on a downlink shared channel. A method is provided for a wireless communications between at least a first and a second service user. The method comprises prioritizing transmission of voice over internet protocol packets for the first and second service users over a shared downlink channel based on a first end-to-end delay that the first service user experiences relative to a second end-to-end delay that the second service user experiences. For example, such a priority adaptation may provide quality of service control for voice over internet protocol over a high-speed downlink packet access channel based on an end-to-end delay that a mobile-to-mobile user may be currently experiencing relative to a mobile-to-land user. In this way, a scheduler at a base station of a communications system may maximize use of voice over internet protocol capacity while maintaining an acceptable level of end-to-end delay for different users of mobile stations.

    摘要: Embodiments of the claimed subject matter provide a method and apparatus for virtual sectorization using an active antenna array. Embodiments of the apparatus include a transmitter for providing signals to an active antenna array. The signals cause the active antenna array to transmit a first reference signal to a first sector indicated to user equipment within the first sector by a sector identifier. The signals also cause the active antenna array to transmit a plurality of second reference signals into a corresponding plurality of second virtual sectors that overlap the first sector. The apparatus also includes a scheduler for scheduling transmission to user equipment based on feedback generated by the user equipment using the first reference signal or the second reference signals.
