摘要: A modulation apparatus is disclosed that enables great improvements in signal transmission rate in a limited frequency band as compared with conventional modulation schemes. Modulation apparatus 100 has first and second frequency-increasing SSB modulators 110 and 120. The modulators 110 and 120 are configured to have respective carrier frequencies with a difference by a frequency corresponding to the reciprocal of the symbol rate (i.e. fundamental frequency of the input symbol). Adder 130 combines a LSB signal obtained from the SSB modulator 120 set for a higher carrier frequency, and a USB signal obtained from the SSB modulator 110 set for a lower carrier frequency to obtain a modulation signal.

摘要: Radio section 103 multiplies modulated transmission signals A to D respectively by a carrier with a frequency of fA, fB, fC or fD, thereby performs the frequency conversion, and outputs the resultant signals to switch 104. Switch 104 switches between frequency conversion sections fA to fD and between antennas A to D to connect, and timing control section 105 outputs a timing control signal to switching control section 107 at time intervals for which timer 106 is preset. Switching control section 107 controls the switching of switch 104 according to switching patterns which are preset in switching pattern storage section 108 and which are each indicative of a connection relationship between antennas A to D and frequency conversion sections fA to fD.

摘要: Received data representing voice information is subjected to Viterbi decoding to correct an error in the received data. Thereby, the received data is decoded into second data. A path metric is calculated to determine the second data during the Viterbi decoding. A decision is made as to whether or not at least one error is present in the second data by referring to a cyclic redundancy check code in the second data. The second data is discarded when it is decided that at least one error is present in the second data. A decision is made as to whether or not the calculated path metric exceeds a threshold value. The second data is discarded when it is decided that the path metric exceeds the threshold value. The second data is converted into sound when it is decided that at least one error is not present in the second data and that the path metric does not exceed the threshold value.

摘要: An apparatus and a method utilized in the field of time division multiplex digital communications or the like for detecting the place of burst signals. A transmitter transmits a carrier wave modulated by message data signals having a reference signal inserted between them, and a receiver receives the transmitted modulated carrier wave. In the receiver, the received modulated carrier wave is demodulated by both a sine wave and a cosine wave each having an angular frequency deviation .DELTA..omega. relative to the received carrier waved, the phase difference between the demodulated message data signals and the modulated reference signal is detected, the time-based change of the detected phase difference is approximated by a function of low order, the error between the phase of the received reference signal and that computed on the basis of the approximation function is computed, and a burst place detection signal is generated when the computed error is smaller than a predetermined threshold value.

摘要: In an equalizer including a plurality of delay elements, a plurality of weighting elements and an adder, the impulse response of a signal transmission channel is estimated to selectively switch over a plurality of selector switches associated with the inputs and outputs of the respective delay elements, thereby selectively changing the combination of the delay elements and the weighting elements transmitting an input signal from the channel to the adder and also changing the combination of the adder and a delay element feeding back the output of the discriminator to the adder. Thus, the number of required taps of the equalizer can be reduced, so that the power consumption and size of the equalizer can be reduced.

摘要: A data decoding device eliminates the need for encoding by a decoder for estimating an error rate and can estimate the error rate at a high precision even if an error is included. A square error sum is calculated by an error calculator based on an output of an equalizer. A estimated error rate is determined based on the error sum, a likelihood is determined based on the estimated error rate, and soft discrimination decoding is made based on the likelihood and the output of the equalizer.
