    Abstract: An inspection circuit is properly protected in a display device, which the driver IC is not on the terminal area. A liquid crystal display device comprising a TFT substrate having a display area, in which video signal lines are formed, and a terminal area; a counter substrate overlapping with the display area of the TFT substrate; the counter substrate and the TFT substrate are adhered by the seal material, the display area is formed in an area surrounded by the seal material; wherein the flexible wiring circuit substrate connects to the terminal area, the driver IC, which supplies video signals to the video signal lines, is not installed in the terminal area, the inspection circuit is formed between the display area and the terminal area, wherein the inspection circuit overlaps with the counter substrate in a plan view.

    Abstract: To enable size reduction of a display device having a touch sensor function in which a display area has a non-rectangular shape. In a display area, video lines and common electrodes extend in the first direction, and scan lines extend in the second direction. A video signal transmission circuit and a common driver are arranged along a first edge of the display area, with which the one ends of the video lines are aligned. A scan line driver is arranged along a second edge of the display area, with which the ends of the scan lines and the common electrodes are aligned. The display area has a shape including an overlapping part between the first edge and the second edge. In a frame area adjacent to the overlapping part, the scan line driver is arranged more outward than the video signal transmission circuit and switch circuits.

    Abstract: The plurality of stages of circuit blocks of a driver circuit in a display device include a first transistor and a second transistor. The first transistor is connected at its gate with a first node and controls conductivity between a scanning signal line and a first clock signal line applied with a first clock signal. The first node is at an active potential when at least any one signal of signals output from one stage in each of a forward direction and a reverse direction is at the active potential. The second transistor is connected at its gate with the first node and controls conductivity between the first clock signal line and an input signal line of another stage of circuit block.

    Abstract: A gate signal line driving circuit includes plural basic circuits, each outputting to a gate signal line a gate signal which is high during a high signal period and low during a low signal period.     Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes common electrodes, detection electrodes, a common-electrode drive circuit including shift registers and switch circuits electrically connected to the shift registers, and a driver which outputs four-phase clock signals and a touch-drive signal, wherein a reset operation of the each shift register is controlled by predetermined two of the four-phase clock signals, each of the switch circuits connects a signal line from the driver to common electrodes based on a shift signal output from an associated shift register, and the each switch circuit causes the touch-drive signal from the driver to be supplied to the common electrodes of the block during a period from time at which the shift signal is output from the associated shift register to time at which a predetermined one of the four-phase clock signals is input.

    Abstract: This invention envisages flexible wiring substrate terminals serving to connect with the wires for preventing dielectric breakdown caused by static electricity during the manufacturing process, and reducing the number of the flexible wiring substrate terminals. On a mother TFT substrate, signal lines extend over each liquid crystal cell in a manner flanking a scribe line between the adjacent liquid crystal cells. The signal lines of each liquid crystal cell are connected with connecting lines striding the scribe line. This reduces the number of static electricity countermeasure wires extending from the flexible wiring substrate terminals of each liquid crystal cell. Once completed, the individual liquid crystal cells are separated from one another, with no adverse effects caused by the connecting lines.

    Abstract: The presence or absence of touch is detected according to a difference of a capacitance caused by the presence or absence of a material that blocks the electric field formed between the detection electrode and the common electrode. The common electrode includes a plurality of divided electrode portions that is extended in a lateral direction and aligned with each other in a longitudinal direction. Each of the plurality of common lines is electrically connected to at least one of the divided electrode portions. The plurality of common lines is arranged in an area next to the common electrode in the lateral direction of the common electrode, arranged next to each other in a width direction orthogonal to a length thereof, is different in width from each other, and the width of the common lines is wider as the length is longer.
