    摘要: An electron cyclotron maser high-frequency generator/amplifier having a cavity resonator positioned in an axial magnetic field. A spiralling beam of relativistic electrons is injected into the cavity and stimulated emission of radiation by the electrons takes place at the frequency of a wave mode supported by the cavity resonator. The transverse efficiency, defined as the average electron energy loss divided by its initial transverse energy, is maximized by disposing a shaped iron collar about the cavity resonator to provide an axial magnetic field in the cavity resonator whose amplitude increases in the beam direction-of-travel. In an alternative embodiment, the transverse efficiency is maximized by tapering the inner wall of the cavity in the axial direction to provide a wave-mode in the cavity resonator whose electric-field amplitude increases in the beam direction-of-travel.

    摘要: A game apparatus is provided having a planar playing field and at least one player element. A horizontally rotatable disc member is provided for communication with the player element. There is a pivotable element defining a leg on the player element. Magnets are provided for the leg for activating the leg. Magnets below the disc are also provided for magnetic communication with the leg, this magnet being slidable under the disc to cause movement of the leg. The disc and the player are selectively rotatable. First and second control lines are provided for manipulation of the player in relation to the disc by a selectively activatable element, preferably a gun-like mechanism. A ball element is provided for movement on the playing field, the ball element containing a magnet. A cam arrangement is provided for arresting backward movement of the leg.

    摘要: A sanitary fitting for biopharmaceutical equipment includes an elongate tubular insert having a main tubular section, which is cylindrical and terminates at an annular flange or annulus which seats at a bottom of a socket in an equipment housing. The bottom face of the annulus includes a groove, which receives a gasket that is compressed between the annulus and bottom face of the socket to prevent entry of fluids into this space. A threaded section of the socket is spaced outwardly of the smooth surfaced fitting so as to receive a threaded nut within such space. A threaded nut is slid down the fitting and engaged with the socket threads wherein the nut drives the socket into and retains the fitting tightly within the socket.

    摘要: A method of preparing a polyurethane-containing film including: (a) providing as a first component a polyurethane material having isocyanate functional groups; (b) providing as a second component a material having active hydrogen functional groups reactive with isocyanate; (c) combining the first component with a portion of the second component to form a first reaction mixture; (d) allowing the first reaction mixture to react for a time sufficient to increase the viscosity to at least 300 cps; (e) adding the remainder of the second component to the first reaction mixture to form a second reaction mixture; (f) dispensing the reaction mixture onto a support substrate in a substantially uniform thickness to form an at least partial film thereon; (g) heating the film on the support substrate to a temperature and for a time sufficient to yield a cured film; and (h) removing the cured film from the support substrate to yield a non-elastomeric polyurethane-containing free film.
