摘要： Photochromic-dichroic articles are provided, which include a substrate having a first surface, a fixed-polarized layer over the first surface of the substrate, and a photochromic-dichroic layer over the first surface of the substrate. The fixed-polarized layer optionally includes a fixed-colorant and has a first polarization axis. The photochromic-dichroic layer includes a photochromic-dichroic compound that is laterally aligned within the photochromic-dichroic layer, and which defines a second polarization axis. The first polarization axis and the second polarization axis are oriented relative to each other at an angle of greater than 0° and less than or equal to 90°. The photochromic-dichroic articles can provide, for example, increased optical density and/or increased kinetics when exposed to a given amount of actinic radiation.

摘要： A method of identifying an action of a policy in association with communications between a client and one or more servers includes determining, by an intermediary, a policy action based on using a callout based policy. In one aspect, an intermediary receives communications between a client and one or more servers. The intermediary identifies a policy for the communications, the policy specifying a request and a server to communicate the request. Responsive to the policy, the intermediary transmits the request to the server. Based on the server response to the request, the intermediary determines an action of the policy. In another aspect, a system for the present method includes an intermediary and a policy engine for identifying a policy to specify a request and a destination server. Responsive to a server response to the request, the intermediary determines an action of the policy.

The server computer system may be an email server and the client computer system may be wireless mobile communication device. Each subsequent request for service from the client computer system to the server computer system may be required to include one of these security codes for the request to be authenticated.

摘要： A method for maintaining a cache of dynamically generated objects. The method includes storing in the cache dynamically generated objects previously served from an originating server to a client. A communication between the client and server is intercepted by the cache. The cache parses the communication to identify an object determinant and to determine whether the object determinant indicates whether a change has occurred or will occur in an object at the originating server. The cache marks the object stored in the cache as invalid if the object determinant so indicates. If the object has been marked as invalid, the cache retrieves the object from the originating server.

摘要： Biosecure algae and methods for preparing biosecure algae that have a substantially decreased capability to survive in a natural environment are described. The methods include transforming a genetically modified alga to include an essential gene that is operably linked to a promoter system that is active only in the presence of an inducer compound, transforming the genetically modified alga to include a lethal gene that is operably linked with a promoter system that is inactive only in the presence of a repressor compound. The biosecure algae are only able to survive in an artificial algae culture that includes factors or conditions not found in a natural environment.
