    摘要: Distortion-free method of mounting an end piece member on a thin-walled hollow tube member, particularly in the assembly of photoreceptor drums and the like, includes the steps of supporting an expandable end piece member within the chamber of an air centering device with its central axis aligned vertically; applying a layer of flowable adhesive to the interior surface of an open end of the hollow tube member; freely suspending the tube member above the end piece member with the open end remaining free of radial distortion and directed toward the end piece member; centering the tube member, by means of the air centering device, to concentrically align the tube member with the end piece member; inserting the end piece member into the tube member; deformingly expanding the end piece member until the layer of flowable adhesive is sufficiently compressed between an outer peripheral edge of the end piece member and the interior surface of the tube member, so as to absorb any dimensional discrepancies therebetween; ceasing the expansion of the end piece member once the radial distortion of the tube member reaches a predetermined distortion value; and curing the flowable adhesive to affix and maintain the end piece member concentrically within the tube member.

    摘要: A copier/printer having a transfer station for transferring images from an imaging member to copy sheets includes the improvement of removing debris from the surfaces of copy sheets facing the imaging member before the copy sheets reach the transfer station. At least a pair of cooperating rolls are positioned to form a nip for driving the copy sheets therebetween toward the transfer station. The cooperating rolls include a drive roll and a dielectric roll with the dielectric roll being electrostatically charged by the drive roll and paper through contact and separation during the intercopy gaps between copy sheets in transit to the transfer station through contact with the copy sheets to electrostatically attract debris from the copy sheets.

    摘要: This invention is generally directed to electrostatographic carrier compositions comprised of a core, containing from about 0.004 weight percent to about 10 weight percent of a polymerized organoalkyoxysilane coating, wherein the monomers to be polymerized are selected from the group consisting of organoalkoxysilane monomers of the following formulas:R--Si--(OR.sub.1).sub.3,and ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an alkyl group containing from about 1 to about 6 carbon atoms, and R, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3, are independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups, substituted alkyl groups, aromatic groups, and substituted aromatic groups.     摘要: A magnetographic imaging member is provided which includes a photoconductive layer sandwiched between a transparent conductive substrate and an overcoating of magnetic particles dispersed in a dielectric material. A magnetic latent image is formed in the member by first producing an electrostatic latent image on the premagnetized dielectric coating and developing it with a thermal radiation reflective toner. The surface is then subjected to thermal radiation which demagnetizes the pigment in the overcoating by raising it to a temperature above its Curie point except in the areas where the developed electrostatic image reflects the heat. The latent magnetic image can be repetitively developed with magnetic toner.

    摘要: A novel magenta developer system is provided which employs a 2,9-dimethylquinacridone pigment and a resin toner in combination with a carrier coated with resin containing copper tetra-4-(octadecylsulfonomido) phthalocyanine. Thus, a magenta developer is provided for the first time which is capable of employing a coated conventional carrier, thereby simplifying the color electrophotographic process. Color electrophotographic process employing this developer are also disclosed.
