摘要： A colored optical fiber whose transmission loss hardly increases even in a high humidity condition or water-immersed condition is provided. The colored optical fiber according to the present invention is a colored optical fiber having a colored coating layer on a circumference of an optical fiber having at least two coating layers on a circumference of a glass optical fiber, characterized in that a difference in each amount of thermal expansion in an outer diameter direction between the optical fiber and a coating layer obtained by removing the glass optical fiber from the optical fiber in a temperature range from −100° C. to 100° C. is 1.8 μm or less.

摘要： A semiconductor laser array device includes a semiconductor laser chip array including a plurality of laser chips each having a prescribed chip width mounted on a bar-shaped supporting substrate and arranged parallel to a length direction of the substrate and determined in position in the optical axis direction of the laser chip and in the length and height directions of the substrate; a monitor photodiode array including a plurality of monitor photodiodes arranged in an array with the same period as that of the laser chip array mounted on the substrate and arranged parallel with the length direction of the substrate and determined in position in the optical axis direction of the laser chips and in the length direction and the height direction of the substrate; a plurality of lenses mounted on the substrate arranged in the length direction of the substrate with the same period as that of the laser chip array, the lens positions being determined in the optical axis direction of the laser chip and in the length direction and the height direction of the substrate. A respective laser chip, monitor photodiode, and lens constitute an individual semiconductor laser device. The distance between the semiconductor laser chip and the monitor photodiode are determined with high precision.

摘要： A projection lens apparatus for projecting an image from a CRT onto a remote screen. The lens apparatus is basically a Petzval type for a large aperture ratio and comprises three lenses. The first lens is a plastic lens having at least one aspherical surface and the third lens has a bi-aspherical surface. To reduce the thermal drift of the focal position, the second lens is a glass lens, having relatively largely positive optical power.

摘要： A fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine is disclosed which includes a single fuel injection valve provided at the area at which a plurality of branch passages of an intake manifold join, and a pressure regulator which regulates the pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve in accordance with a vacuum pressure in an intake manifold.According to this system, during low load condition, the pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve is held within a range of levels lower than that appearing during high load conditions, thereby increasing the duration during which the fuel injection valve is opened in synchronism with the operation of each cylinder. Thereby, this system makes it possible to uniformly supply fuel to each cylinder for all running conditions of the vehicle.

摘要： An electronic controlled carburetor has an induction passage into which fuel is fed by a fuel metering system communicated with the atmosphere through main and auxiliary air bleed passages. The main and auxiliary air bleed passages have therein main and auxiliary solenoid valves, respectively, for altering the rate of air flow therethrough. A control circuit determines the duty ratio of a first pulse signal applied to the main solenoid valve in response to an air/fuel ratio indicative signal from an oxygen sensor. The control circuit determines the duty ratio of a second pulse signal applied to the auxiliary solenoid valve from the duty ratio of the first pulse signal so as to permit the main solenoid valve to operate around 50% duty ratio over all engine operating modes.

摘要： An engine is provided with two spark plugs in each combustion chamber to ignite stoichiometric air-fuel mixture mixed with a large proportion of inert gases to lower NOx emission level. The engine is equipped with hydraulic valve lifters which are mechanically connected to intake and exhaust valves to control the valve overlap of the intake and exhaust valves. By the action of the valve lifters, the valve overlaps are increased in the normal driving operation range of the engine to prevent discharge at the terminal stage of exhaust valve opening exhaust gases containing a considerably large amount of hydrocarbons.

摘要： An engine system of the invention comprises an internal combustion engine; a carburetor; an exhaust gas recirculation system; an exhaust gas treatment device; and a source of secondary air, in which there is provided a fluid network which interconnects the source of secondary air, the engine exhaust system at a position upstream of the exhaust gas treatment device and the exhaust gas recirculation system at a position upstream of an exhaust gas recirculation valve and there is also provided an air injection control valve fluidly disposed in the fluid network intermediate the source of secondary air and the exhaust gas recirculation system. The air injection control valve is adapted to selectively permit and prevent the admission of air to the exhaust gas recirculation system. A controller for the air injection control valve is also disclosed which comprises a detector that generates as an output signal a first signal responsive to urban driving conditions which are empirically determined to occur when the motor vehicle is driven in urban areas and a second signal responsive to rural driving conditions which are empirically determined to occur when the motor vehicle is driven in rural areas. The controller causes the air injection valve to permit the admission of air to the EGR system when the detector detects the rural driving conditions.
