Abstract:
A system for applying therapy to an eye selectively applies coolant to the corneal surface to minimize heat-related damage to the corneal surface during thermokeratoplasty. Embodiments may include an energy source, a conducting element, a coolant supply, and a coolant delivery system. The conducting element is operably connected to the energy source and extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The conducting element directs energy from the energy source to the distal end, which is positionable at the eye. The coolant delivery system is in communication with the coolant supply and is operable to deliver a micro-controlled pulse of coolant to the distal end.
Abstract:
A heated roller for therapy that allows a user to easily, safely and conveniently combine the benefits of heat with the use of a roller. The heated roller includes a roller body having a substantially cylindrical exterior shape, an insulating material, perforations, and a hollowed core with an opening configured to receive a structural support. The structural support includes a hollowed core with an opening configured to receive a heating element. The heating element may be electric or non-electric and the heating element and the structural support may be formed into a single structure. The heated roller includes an openable cap to provide access to the internally positioned structural support and heating element.
Abstract:
A massager device providing multiple massaging effects with thermal enhancement is disclosed. The device comprises a cylindrical body with a first end which is closed and a second end which is open, a first cap coupled to the first end, and a second cap coupled to the second end, an assembly of DC vibrator embedded in the first end, and a switch embedded in the first cap. The cylindrical body comprises an inner layer and an outer layer. The inner layer is made of ABS materials. The outer layer is made of silicone rubber and comprises a base sheet and an array of evenly spaced identical elastic nipples positioned outwardly with their bottoms embedded in the base sheet. The first cap and the second cap have substantially identical exterior shape and size, each of which having an inner layer made of ABS materials and a silicone rubber ring coupled to the inner layer's exterior. The hollow space made by the cylindrical body and the second cap may contain thermal media such as water or gel. In operation, the user may enjoy massaging effects from the silicone rubber nipples, the silicone rubber rings on the both ends, as well as the high temperature or lower temperature controlled by the thermal media contained in the hollow space.

Abstract:
A device includes an assembly including a non-rotatable applicator. The applicator includes an application surface configured to treat an area of the human body such as the skin. The applicator further includes at least one material with thermal properties such that, when the at least one material is heated to a temperature above 30° C. and which temperature does not cause thermal damage to the skin when the application surface is contacted with the skin for 15 seconds, the application surface maintains, after this application, a temperature above or equal to 30° C. The applicator can include a grasping surface and a cavity with a compound inside. The applicator can typically be configured to withstand repeated heating, especially by microwave oven.
Abstract:
A massager (12) includes an inductively chargeable battery (48), avoiding the need to deal with batteries and cords while providing a pleasant exothermic warmth. Different embodiments of sealing and skinning (13) make the massager (12) hygienically safe and fluid- and water-resistant. Sophisticated controls (50) provide the massager with the ability to respond to direct-mounted user controls (20, 22), wireless communication controls such as remote controls (30) and a plethora of other protocol-compatible devices, systems and media. A mating base (14) supports the massager (12) for inductive charging in a stable, aesthetically pleasant and safe relationship.
Abstract:
A therapeutic article is provided which includes an enclosure containing at least a single structure for overlaying a pressure point, and a viscous fluid substantially surrounding the at least a single structure. The at least a single structure is free to be selectively positionable within the viscous fluid, and along a length and width of the elongate enclosure. The viscous fluid is suited for selectively heating or chilling in furtherance of therapy enhancement. The article is further adapted for use as a wrap structure for affixation about an body portion for receipt of therapy.
Abstract:
The present invention is a unique compact cane adapted to provide pain relief for the user. It has the ability to apply heat and pressure to constricted muscles anywhere on the body. This device employs removable microwavable massage handles that heat to an elevated temperature to relax muscles without burning the skin. The combination of heat and pressure has been proven to relax knotted muscles. The cane is hingeably foldable.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a set of hand-held massaging devices suitable for use in performing various Swedish massage movements for an all-over body massage. The device is designed such that a user can self-massage or a user can assist or perform a massage on a person in need of Swedish or Aromatherapy massage treatment.
