摘要: An active orthotic device, e.g. a hand orthosis, is attached to one or more limbs of a human subject and comprises a respective set of actuators (21) for moving a respective limb (1A) among the one or more limbs. A method for controlling the orthotic device comprises obtaining one or more bioelectric signals, [S(t)], from one or more bioelectric sensors (10) attached to or implanted in the human subject; processing the one or more bioelectric signals, [5(t)j, for prediction of an intended application force, FA(t), of the respective limb (1A) onto an object; obtaining a force signal, PA(t), from a force sensing device (22) associated with the respective set of actuators (21) and/or the respective limb (1A); and generating, as a function of a momentary difference, e(t), between the intended application force, FA(t), and the force signal, PA(t), a respective set of control signals, it(t), for the respective set of actuators (21).

摘要: The present invention relates to a system for assessing and rehabilitating spasticity in stroke patients, utilizing a novel approach that combines EMG signal analysis with kinematic data of wrist movements. The system comprises a set of electrodes for capturing EMG signals from key wrist muscles, a motion tracking module for monitoring wrist joint movements, and a processing unit for calculating and normalizing wrist joint torque. A distinctive feature is computation of a characteristic vector, indicative of the spasticity state, derived from the moment arms of the involved muscles. The system includes a motorized wrist system, designed to assist wrist movements in a direction countering the spasticity-induced pull, guided by the characteristic vector. This approach allows for personalized rehabilitation, adapting to the patient's specific muscular imbalances. The invention holds promise for enhanced assessment accuracy and tailored therapy in stroke rehabilitation, offering significant benefits for both clinical and home-based rehabilitation settings.

摘要: A walking assistant device may calculate a walking cycle by measuring only motion of a specific joint without a force/torque sensor (F/T sensor) of a foot, and a method of controlling the walking assistant device. The method may include measuring motion of a hinge to which different support frames are connected; overlapping a reference trajectory corresponding to the measured motion and modulation trajectories that have been modulated from the reference trajectory; correcting the overlapping trajectory to correspond to the measured motion; determining assistant torque corresponding to a phase of the corrected trajectory; and providing the determined assistant torque to the support frame.
