Abstract:
The invention relates to a dispensing device (1), comprising a container (2) and a dispensing head (5) connected thereto, said container (2) and head (5) including a co-operating snap coupling means comprising a plurality of lugs (6, 7) arranged on one of the two parts to be connected and a plurality of recesses (8) arranged in the other part for receiving the lugs (6, 7), in which at least one of the lugs (6, 7) is resiliently deformable and at least one other lug is relatively stiff and nondeformable. Such a dispensing device may swiftly and easily be filled and assembled (1). At least the lugs are advantageously made of a thermoplastic polyester, like e.g. PET. The invention further relates to a method for filling such a dispensing device with a medium to be dispensed.
Abstract:
A dispenser pump e.g. for toothpaste has a plunger (21) connected to a proximal end of an elongate flexible plastics strip (22) which is run slidably along a guide track built into the discharge nozzle (14) of the pump alongside the discharge channel (63). The distal end of the guide track defines a bend which opens through a lateral slot into the discharge channel (63) just inside its external opening. Action of the plunger causes the strip (22) to slide back and forth along the track and round the bend, so that the tip of the strip is moved out of the mouth of the nozzle during dispensing but returns to block it and cut away residual product when the plunger is released.
Abstract:
A fluid dispenser device comprising a body (1), a reservoir unit (3) comprising a reservoir containing one dose or two half-doses of fluid, a dispensing member such as a piston (8) mounted to move axially inside the reservoir (3) between a rest position and a dispensing position, and an actuating element (5) that is mounted to move between a rest position and an actuating position, said fluid dispenser device being characterized in that said actuating element (5) is disposed laterally, and has an end portion provided with a cam surface (6) which cooperates with said dispensing member (8) or said reservoir unit (3), said actuating element (5) being moved in a direction that is different from, and in particular substantially perpendicular to, the axial direction in which the dispensing member (8) moves relative to the reservoir.
Abstract:
A container-mounted pump dispenser having a body with a vertical cylinder and piston is provided with a one-piece spring/gasket. The spring/gasket is a resilient bowl-shaped spring attached at its lower end about the piston stem and at its upper end comprises an annular gasket to be squeezed between the dispenser mounting cap and the container finish.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a trigger sprayer which is connectable to two container volumes containing separate liquids. The sprayer has a trigger that is manipulated to draw the separate liquids into two separate pump chambers and then supply the two separate liquids from the pump chambers to a discharge passage of the sprayer. In the discharge passage the two separate liquids are mixed together prior to their being dispensed from the discharge passage as a spray.
Abstract:
A liquid dispenser includes a dispenser subassembly having an inlet, an outlet, and a pump in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet, the pump being movable between a first position and a second position. The liquid dispenser also has a container including an opening for receiving a liquid and an actuating element connected thereto. The actuating element is engagable with the dispenser subassembly when the container and the dispenser subassembly are assembled together. Engagement of the actuating element with the dispenser subassembly is a prerequisite for operating the pump and dispensing the liquid from the dispenser. Also disclosed is a method of priming a liquid dispenser during final assembly thereof whereby the liquid dispenser will be immediately ready to discharge a liquid without further priming, such as is required with conventional liquid dispensers. The dispenser may also have a precompression system that stops liquid from being discharged until a predetermined pressure level has been attained in a pump chamber.
Abstract:
A pump-type dispenser for dispensing predetermined doses of medicament in droplets or in spray form to the nasal area incorporates a rigid vial for medicament, an expandable pouch located within the rigid vial, a nasal screen, a one-way actuation mechanism, a one-way valve mechanism in the nozzle area and a spring element, both the valve mechanism and the spring element being formed as integral portions of the pump body. The nasal screen aligns the dispenser nozzle with the nasal passage and also allows the user to discreetly hide the nasal area from public view. The one-way valve mechanism in the nozzle area ensures a one-way movement of medicament from the dispenser, thereby preserving substantially perfect sterility of the medicament in the dispenser regardless of the environment surrounding the dispenser, without requiring the use of preservatives. The one-way actuation mechanism enables the user to load and dispense a uniform quantity of medicament with a uniform actuation force and speed via a single continuous motion of the actuation mechanism upon application of a very small force on the actuation trigger mechanism by the user. By preventing the pump mechanism from being left in a loaded state for a prolonged period of time, the one-way actuation mechanism prevents the spring element from experiencing the nullfatiguenull phenomenon. The rigid vial/expandable-pouch combination facilitates improved long term use, as well as uniformity of dosage independent of the pump orientation.
Abstract:
An injector for introducing a fluid composition into an air conditioning system is provided. The injector includes a pump including an internal volume having a first opening and a second opening, and a plunger which moves within the internal volume between a first position and a second position. The first opening includes a first valve for selectively allowing the fluid composition to flow from the internal volume as the plunger moves from the first position to the second position. The second opening includes a second valve for selectively allowing the fluid composition to flow into the internal volume as the plunger moves from the second position to the first position. A hose is provided having a first end connected to the first opening, and a second end constructed for attachment to a port on an air conditioning system. A cartridge including a fluid composition is provided fluidly connected to the second opening of the pump. Methods for injecting lubricant into an air conditioning system and detecting leaks in an air conditioning system are provided. A kit for detecting leaks in an air conditioning system is provided.
Abstract:
A docking station and bottle system 23 including a filling head 20 and bottle 22 which have a head interconnect 86 and a bottle interconnect 90, respectively, for fastening the bottle 22 to the filling 20 head in order to prevent spillage. The bottle interconnect 90 includes a fluid port 106 and a vent port 104 which are simultaneously opened from a closed position in order to allow the filling head 20 to draw concentrated fluid from the bottle 22 and mix the concentrated fluid with a diluting fluid such as water before being dispensed from a filling head nozzle 52. The bottle 22 includes identifying indicia 158 for purposes of tracking utilization of the bottle and the concentrated fluid contained therein. An information storage system 170 is associated with the bottle and filling head in order to provide records of such concentrated fluid utilization. A wall mounted docking station 200 including one or more filling heads 20 is also provided for. A refill head is further provided for refilling bottle 22.
