Abstract:
A fluid applicator (1, 20) applies a fluid, such as flux, to the external surfaces of a pipe (22). The fluid applicator (20) has a fluid reservoir (24) containing the fluid to be applied to a pipe (22), and a fluid carrier (94) to receive fluid from the fluid reservoir (24). The fluid (carrier 94) is supported by a cylindrical sleeve (90) formed around the fluid reservoir (24). The cylindrical sleeve (90) is moveable between a position in which fluid is received by the fluid carrier (94), and a position in which the fluid carrier (94) applies fluid to a pipe end.
Abstract:
A container (1) with a portion dispensing device for dispensing portions of a product from the container. The container has a main reservoir (2) for storage of product. The portion dispensing device comprises a variable volume product chamber (30) and associated restoring means. The variable volume product chamber (30) has a product outlet and an outlet valve (45). The product chamber also has a product inlet in communication with the main reservoir (2) and an inlet valve. The variable volume product chamber (30) has a volume that is reduced upon increased pressurization of product in the main reservoir (2) of the container (1), and that is increased, at when the increased pressurization of product in the main reservoir (2) of the container (1) is removed. The inlet valve (60) closes the product inlet upon increase of pressurization of the product in the main reservoir (2) so that product passes from the chamber via the product outlet. The inlet valve (60) opens the product inlet upon removal of said increased pressurization.
Abstract:
A manually actuated pump type fluid dispenser has a casing (118) defining an internal cavity and a pump member (101) at least partly located in the cavity. The pump member has a central core (101)a and first and second seal members (101b, 101c) projecting radially outwardly of the core and spaced in an axial direction of the core for contact with the casing to define a pump chamber within the cavity. A region (112) of the core between the first and second seal members is resiliently deformable from an initial resiliently biased configuration in which the first and second seal members are axially spaced by a first amount and an axially compressed configuration in which the seal members are spaced by a second amount which is less than the first amount to reduce the volume of the pump chamber.
Abstract:
A medicament-dispensing system includes a cartridge for housing and actuating an accordion-like vial-dispenser for dispensing a calibrated amount of medicament by means of a single actuation motion which sequentially loads the vial-dispenser and dispenses the loaded medicament. The vial-dispenser has a front bellows portion, a rear bellows portion, an internal piston mechanism, a medicament storage chamber and a dosage cavity. The cartridge has a trigger mechanism which acts in concert with a notched lever and a wedge-shaped arm internally located in the cartridge to sequentially load the dosage cavity with medicament and discharge it. Depression of the trigger mechanism simultaneously extends, by means of the notched lever, the front bellows portion and compresses the rear bellows portion to load the dosage cavity with medicament. Once the notched lever has extended the front bellows portion a predetermined distance, the notched lever is disengaged from the front bellows portion by the wedge-shaped arm extending from the rear wall of the housing, thereby releasing the front and rear bellows portions, along with the internal piston mechanism, to return to original position and force the medicament from the dosage cavity via a nozzle of the vial-dispenser.
Abstract:
A fluid dispensing system provides a sprayer. The system has a container with liquid fluid, such as used in lawn and garden weed control and fertilization. The sprayer has a handle containing a spring engine and a pump for liquid from the container. The spring engine has a flat spring having a spring band extending from two coils wound on two shafts. One of the coils is manually wound by a crank connected to a shaft on which the coil is connected. The other shaft is connected to the pump by a rotary cam driver. Liquid is sucked by the pump into a pump chamber during part of a cycle of rotation of the other shaft when the coils are unwound and the liquid is pumped out of the chamber during the other part of the cycle of rotation to a sprayer head on the sprayer handle.
Abstract:
A fluid dispenser for dispensing a metered volume of a fluid product having a storage chamber for storing the fluid product in; a dispensing outlet through which the fluid product is dispensable from the dispenser; a metering chamber which is adapted to provide the metered volume of the fluid product for dispensing through the dispensing outlet by movement of the metering chamber between a contracted state and an expanded state, movement of the metering chamber from the contracted state to the expanded state placing the metering and storage chambers in fluid communication to enable the metering chamber to receive from the storage chamber an excess volume of the fluid product comprising the metered volume and a surplus volume; and a bleed arrangement adapted to bleed the surplus volume of the fluid product from the metering chamber is described.
Abstract:
A seasoning container comprising a container main body having an upper opening portion and a lower opening portion, an upper lid having a recessed portion and detachably fitted to the upper opening portion, a bottom lid detachably fitted to the lower opening portion of the container main body and having a nozzle disposed at a central area thereof, a control member whose upper end is connected to an inner central area of a handle which can be lowered into the recess of the upper lid, a pump member placed within a lower space portion disposed on an extension of the control member and communicated with an interior of the container main body, and a narrow tubular member, which is passed through a central through hole portion of the pump material, being in communication with the nozzle of the bottom lid, thereby jetting the liquid seasoning through a container main body bottom surface portion.
Abstract:
A one-piece molded body and housing unit for a pump dispenser, the housing comprising a pair of spaced side walls and a top wall. A vertical tubular support and pump cylinder are both spaced from the side walls and meet the top wall. Box-like channels are formed in the side walls and support trigger pins, spacing them in from the side walls. The mold includes blades on the upper mold half which extend down through the top wall to form the upper wall of the delivery tube. Additional blades on the upper mold half extend down through the top wall to form the channels and the trigger support pins in cooperation with mold surfaces from the lower half of the mold.
Abstract:
An apparatus is used to apply medicament to an eye and stores the medicament in a medicament chamber. A nozzle is coupled in fluid communication with the medicament chamber and is formed by an outer nozzle portion and an inner nozzle portion received within the outer nozzle portion. A seam is formed by the interface of the inner nozzle portion and the outer nozzle portion and is normally in a closed position to prevent the passage of medicament through the nozzle. The seam opens in response to the flow of medicament of sufficient pressure into the seam to permit the passage of medicament through the nozzle for release into the eye.
Abstract:
A manually actuated liquid pump sprayer is capable of use in both upright and inverted positions without leakage through the vent port by the provision of an auxiliary inlet passage including an inlet port in the path of a slider valve, and a vent port likewise in the path of a slider valve. The vent port is open while the inlet port is closed while the slider valve in the upright attitude of the sprayer, while the converse is effected by the slider valve when operating the sprayer in an inverted position.
