摘要: A glazing apparatus to glaze a window or door sash is described that includes a nozzle and a gear metering assembly. The metering assembly creates a flow of glazing material through the nozzle at a controlled rate such that the rate of flow of glazing material from the nozzle is proportional to a distance that the nozzle travels across the sash. The invention also allows the production of a finished window or door from precut glass and a pre-assembled sash at a single manufacturing station. The invention largely eliminates the effect of operator skill and experience on the quality of the finished product by evenly depositing sealant on the window frame as well as desiccant within a channel formed in the window frame.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for applying paints or varnishes with the aid of an application device in order to apply a color design on surfaces of buildings or public or civil engineering works in accordance with a previously executed implementation of a digital image model in a previously recorded digital surface object that represents the surface of the object. According to the invention, the application device moves on the surface of the object while contacting the surface thereof, the position of the application device is continuously measured or calculated using motion sensors and paint is applied in accordance with said implementation depending on the position thus determined. Application of paint by the application device is automatically stopped if the position of the application device with respect to a predefined position error acceptance threshold cannot be determined in a sufficiently accurate manner or if the corresponding paint or varnish has been fully applied in the position of the paint applying elements.

摘要: A substrate is horizontally held by a substrate holding portion freely movable in the Y-direction, and a nozzle portion is provided above and opposing the substrate, and movable in X-direction corresponding to the coating liquid feeding region of the substrate. A discharge opening is formed at a lower end of the nozzle portion, and a channel connecting the discharge opening with a coating liquid feed tube coupled to an upper end of the nozzle portion is formed within the discharge opening. At the midstream of the channel, a liquid pool portion larger in diameter than the discharge opening is formed, the inside of which is provided with a filtering member formed by porous bodies blocking the channel. The filtering member forms a pressure loss portion, which absorbs pulsation occurring at the coating liquid feed tube before it reaches the discharge opening.

摘要: The invention pertains to a coating apparatus and method in which most of the relative movement between a dispensing head and the substrate to be coated is provided by the coating head. The moving head configuration reduces the system footprint and diminishes leveling problems. A powered shuttle mechanism carries a dispensing head above a substrate to be coated while riding on a bearing located underneath the chuck holding the substrate thereby providing rigidity and reducing the system footprint. Chuck support is designed to accommodate anticipated vertical sag in the dispensing head by supporting the chuck at points along its periphery thereby permitting the chuck to sag in conjunction with the dispensing head. The shuttle mechanism is equipped with means for automatically adjusting the height of the dispensing head with respect to substrate to compensate for substrate placement error, substrate dimensional variation, and mechanical drift in the mechanical machine parts. Coating consistency is enhanced using such height adjustment. A part of the apparatus containing the fluid delivery equipment and in communication with the dispensing head may be placed on a cart and removably attached to the rest of the apparatus. There is a utility station comprising equipment for cleaning and priming the dispensing head which may be located on the removable cart. A pump in addition to main remote pumping means may be integrally mounted on the dispensing head to more precisely control fluid flow to the dispensing head. The chuck may be configured to be micro deformable so as to maintain the surface of a substrate upon it at a constant height. Fluid may be dispensed along openings of selected lengths along the length of the dispensing head using die lips attached to the dispensing head or by cutting a plurality of slots in a single dispensing head.

摘要: A device for providing a coating on a surface includes a capillary slot that is open at the bottom and is filled via a supply chamber with coating medium. A substrate is conducted below the opening of the slot with the surface to be coated facing up. The capillary slot is not only determined by the intermolecular binding forces but can be actively fixed. As a result, high coating rates, e.g., between 30 and 100 mm/s, can be achieved. An especially reliable filling of the coating chamber results by providing an overflow container that communicates via a gravity-feed line with the capillary slot. The overflow container is preferably mounted so that it can be adjusted in height above the capillary slot, thereby effecting an adjustable flow of medium through the capillary slot, and an adjustable coat thickness.

摘要: A method of controlling and operating a fluid dispensing apparatus is provided which modifies a tool speed signal from a robot and generates a corrected signal to a dispenser nozzle flow controller to compensate for non-linear flow characteristics of fluids, such as non-Newtonian adhesive fluids, to maintain uniform bead size as the tool speed varies. The corrected tool speed signal is generated by computing the ideal flow for the tool speed, comparing the computed flow with actual flow data stored in memory using linear interpolation of data between the stored values, and generating a control signal modified in accordance with the comparison. The stored data is acquired by operation of the apparatus in a calibration mode wherein a series of standard signals is sent to the fluid controller while the actual flow at each signal level is measured and stored in a table. The method corrects for non-linear flow phenomena such as that known as the shear-thinning effect that is flow rate dependent.

摘要: A pump system for delivering a polymer melt adhesive to an applicator includes the components: a body having mounted thereon a hopper containing a molten polymer, a dual stream pump mounted on the body for receiving a melt from the hopper and discharging dual streams, a first flow course formed in the body interconnecting one pump stream with an outlet from the body, a flow meter for sensing the flow through the first course, and a second flow course interconnecting the other pump stream to a second outlet from the body. A pressure relief valve disposed in the first and second flow courses is activated in response to a predetermined pressure in each course due to downstream failure and diverts the flow therein from the body outlet to the hopper. Diversion of the flow to the hopper changes the flow rate through the flow meter which automatically activates controls to shutdown the system or activate an alarm. The body contains plugs for converting the apparatus from a dual pump stream system to a single pump system.
