    摘要: A fuel consumption apparatus includes a container for discharge of a fuel therefrom and a fuel consumption device such as a torch for producing a flame upon igniting the fuel. An adaptor releasably couples the container to the fuel consumption device. The adaptor includes a tightening assembly having an inner locking element and an outer ring rotatable with respect to the inner locking element. The tightening assembly is operable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A holding member releasably engages with a portion of the container when the tightening assembly is in at least the unlocked position. The holding member includes one or more prongs shaped to releasably engage a portion of the container.

    摘要: An engine cleaner composition and method for removing carbonaceous deposits from engine fuel-system components such as mechanical and electronic fuel injectors, intake valve seats, valves, combustion cylinders, spark plugs, and oxygen sensors may be used on both gasoline and diesel engines. Preferred compositions comprise a synergistic solution of a heterocyclic ring compound in an azeotrope of acetonitrile and water, together with selected surfactants and aromatics. Preferred compositions of the invention may be placed in an aerosol pressurized unit utilizing a compressed gas, such as nitrogen or nitrous oxide, or compressed liquid gas, such as a hydrocarbon or fluorohydrocarbon. Preferred engine cleaning compositions of the invention are substantially non-ozone depleting, are low in global warming, and have a low order of human toxicity. Preferred compositions have a moderate pH and are essentially compatible with metals and elastomers conventionally used in engine fuel-system components. The invention provides a consumer or a professional engine mechanic with a safe, easy and efficient way to clean engine fuel-system components.

    摘要: An apparatus for dispensing an aerosol container's pressurized fluid contents includes a base; a first, outer sleeve mounted on the base; a second, inner sleeve nested within the outer sleeve and defining a bore adapted to receive the container; and a plurality of retainers pivotally mounted to the base within the outer sleeve so as to move from a radially inward position to a radially outward position relative to the centerline of the two sleeves. The inner sleeve is biased away from the base by a first spring, such that a first internal camming surface on the inner sleeve engages each retainer to urge it radially inwardly into engagement with the container's external curl upon advancement of the container into the nested sleeves, thereby securing the container proximate to the base. Upon moving the inner sleeve towards the base, the sleeve's first internal camming surface disengages the retainers to permit their radial expansion and, hence, the release of the container's external curl. Further relative movement of the inner sleeve permits a second internal camming surface on the inner sleeve to engage a radial extension of each retainer thereby to further urge each retainer free and clear of the container's external curl. An annular valve-actuating piston, slidably mounted within a tubular guide projecting from the base in alignment with the centerlines of the two sleeves, is biased away from the base and into engagement with the container's integral valve by a second spring interposed between the piston and the base. A length of flexible tubing is attached to the piston to receive the contents of the container released by the piston.

    摘要: Two-part reactive polymeric coatings are prepared and applied from an integral dispensing system. The reactive components are held in two separate containers held together by a coupling. Each container is sealed by a pierceable membrane. A piercing tube is disposed within the coupling. In use, the containers are twisted together to cause the tube within the coupling to pierce each of the membranes. Breakaway tabs protect against inadvertent displacement of the containers and provides a clear indication of whether the tube has pierced the membranes. Differential pressure between the containers causes the components to mix and begin to react; a net positive pressure with respect to the ambient atmosphere permits the mixed components to be applied as a spray. An externally mounted spray feed tube provides great flexibility in application of the paint being sprayed.

    摘要: A hand-operated cleaning system includes an ON/OFF control unit snap-on mountable onto a pressurized container having a valve stem for delivering cleaning liquid. This control unit includes an outer cap with resilient fingers adapted to snap-grip engage and mount the control unit onto a top rim of the container. An inner cap is mounted within the outer cap for ON/OFF helical turning movement so that turning the inner cap in the ON direction depresses the valve stem for releasing pressurized liquid from its container, and turning it in the OFF direction stops such release. A fluid passageway extends from the valve stem through the inner cap to a length of flexible tubing coupled to the inner cap and extending to a remotely-located, hand-held applicator wand. This applicator wand has a fluid passageway communicating with the flexible tubing for providing a path through the wand to its nozzle end. A valve is positioned in the wand for operation by a button actuator. Depressing this button actuator by a user's thumb or forefinger opens the valve for delivering fluid out through an axial bore of the nozzle. A brush is mountable in the nozzle bore so that solvent dispensed through the nozzle bore for brushing application of dispensed liquid onto a surface to be cleaned. The button-actuated valve is spaced away from the end of the elongated nozzle for enabling the nozzle and brush to reach into places of difficult access.

    摘要: The invention is directed to a dispenser for dispensing sanitizer and/or deodorizer chemical from a pressurized container into the inside of a grinder type garbage disposer. The dispensing device mounts in a convenient location adjacent to the grinding garbage disposer it is intended to serve and also at a convenient location for the person who uses the garbage disposer. The device comprises a canister with a substantially closed bottom surface and a hollow inner area enclosed by a selectively and translatable removable lid. A small diameter tube extends from the nozzle of a pressurized container of deodorant through a small opening in the substantially closed bottom into an area below the mouth of the grinder garbage disposer. For activation of the device the top is translated downward against the valve of the pressurized container causing sanitize and/or deodorant chemical to escape the container flow through the small diameter tube into the garbage disposer. Thusly the disposer is sanitized and/or deodorized.

The propellent in the aerosol can, upon release in the cap enclosure, expands suddenly to form an extremely cold gas that instantaneously freezes any insect trapped in said cap enclosure. The valve assembly and cap enclosure can be selectively turned to permit the extinction of insects on floors, walls, and ceilings. A child safety device is utilized which permits actuation of the valve only when the assembly is in a certain position. A further safety device is provided to prevent the discharge of the contents thereof only when the cap is pressed against a firm surface.

A cap assembly is connected through a flexible conduit to a wand for delivery of the pressurized contents of the container. The wand includes a flexible membrane which when depressed by finger pressure opens a valve between the pressurized inlet and an outlet passage to deliver the pressurized fluid.
