Abstract:
The seizure resistance of an Al-based flame-sprayed layer formed on the swash plate of a swash-plate type comressor is increased to such a level comparable to that of a flame-sprayed bronze layer. The Al-based flame-sprayed layer of the present invention contains: from 12 to 60% of Si and granular Si particles dispersed in the matrix thereof, and at least one dispersing phase of graphite carbon, amorphous carbon and carbon, the crystallizing degree of which is between the graphite carbon and amorphous carbon, and MoS2.
Abstract:
A wear-resistant wrought Al alloy having a desirable high fatigue strength, toughness and flexure strength when subjected to a quenching and an age hardening heat treatment. The Al alloy contains 8.0 to 13.0% by weight of Si, 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of Fe, 1.5 to 5.0% by weight of Cu, 0.4 to 1.5% by weight of Mg, 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of Cr, 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of Ni, an element selected from the group consisting of 0.005 to 0.05% by weight of Sr and 0.05 to 0.3% by weight of Sb, and the remainder being Al and unavoidable impurities, wherein there is no more than 0.04% by weight of Mn as an unavoidable impurity. The Al alloy having Si particles being finely dispersed therein, wherein an average diameter of an equivalent circle of Si particles is not more than 5.00 .mu.m and an average roundness of Si particles is not less than 0.50. The amounts of Fe, Cr and Ni contained in the alloy and the amount of Mn as an impurity are such to prevent Si particles and other intermetallic compounds from enlarging. At the same time, with the above amounts of Sr or Sb, it is possible to reduce the size of the Si particles and to control the shape. Thus the occurrence or propagation of cracking, which is caused by Si particles can be delayed. The Al alloy exhibits the characteristics necessary for a scroll compressor.
Abstract:
The pump device includes a housing defining insertion holes for a rotation shaft, inlets and outlets, and an internal passage; a first pump element; and a second pump element. The internal passage includes first suction passages communicating from the inlet to a first suction port facing the first end surface of the first pump element directed to one end side; first discharge passages communicating from a first discharge port facing the first end surface to the outlet; second suction passages passing around the first pump element to communicate from the inlet to a second suction port facing the second end surface of the second pump element; and second discharge passages passing around the first pump element to communicate from a second discharge port facing the second end surface to the outlet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an aluminum alloy having low density and enhanced heat resistance. An aluminum alloy having improved high temperature physical properties comprises: magnesium (Mg) in an amount of about 7 to about 11 wt %, silicon (Si) in an amount of about 4 to about 8 wt %, copper (Cu) in an amount of about 0.5 to about 2 wt % and manganese (Mn) in an amount of about 0.3 to about 0.7 wt %, and a balance of aluminum based on the total weight of the aluminum alloy. Vehicle parts such as a piston, a housing and/or a bed plate of high power engine, to which the aluminum alloy may be applied, are provided as well.
Abstract:
A cylinder head is formed by positioning a clad preform including a first and second layer in a casting die cavity with the second layer in communication with the die cavity and the first layer facing outwardly to define a combustion surface. Molten material provided to the die cavity is solidified to form a cast portion metallurgically bonded to the second layer. An aperture of the preform forms a port in fluid communication with a passage of the cast portion. A plurality of dome-shaped preforms may define the combustion chambers of a cylinder head formed by the method. The preform may define a cylinder head face. The first layer may be a steel-based layer, and the second layer and cast portion may be aluminum-based, such that the first layer and combustion surface has higher thermal fatigue strength relative to the cast portion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a gear pump, especially for a power steering system, having a housing, a first cover and a second cover, the first cover being integrated into the housing.
Abstract:
A rotary pump having a variable delivery volume, including: a casing; a delivery chamber formed in the casing; at least one delivery rotor which is rotatable in the delivery chamber; an actuating member which is arranged facing a front face of the delivery rotor or surrounds the delivery rotor, and is moveable in the casing for adjusting the delivery volume; the actuating member chargeable with an actuating force which is dependent on a fluid requirement; a track which is formed in the casing and guides the actuating member on an actuating member sliding surface in a sliding contact; and a sliding material which forms at least one of the track and the actuating member sliding surface.
Abstract:
As pressure in a water tank rapidly rises when water inside a compressor is evaporated by the high temperature of compressed air and this situation makes the operation unstable, an object of the present subject matter is to address this problem. A water injected scroll air compressor is provided with: an air end of the scroll air compressor; a driving unit that generates driving force for the air end; a compressing path from a suction port to a discharge port; a portion to inject water into the compressing path; a discharge piping of air discharged from the air end; a tank provided on a path of the discharge piping for storing water separated from the compressed air; and a cooler that is provided on the path of the discharge piping between the tank and the air end and cools the compressed air discharged from the air end.
