摘要: A cryogenic chamber comprising an outer vacuum vessel (9), an inner cryogen vessel (11), a turret (40) housing a neck tube (8) itself providing external access to the inner cryogen vessel (11), and a pulse tube refrigerator (20) itself comprising at least one pulse tube and at least one regenerator tube. The pulse tube refrigerator is located within a vacuum contained between the outer vacuum vessel (9) and the inner cryogen vessel (11) and the pulse tube refrigerator (20) and the neck tube (8) share a single turret (40). The cooling stage(s) (6, 7) of the pulse tube refrigerator (20) is/are rigidly mechanically connected to the neck tube (8) by highly conductive thermal links. The pulse tube(s) and regenerator tube(s) are displaced away from the neck tube and from each other.

摘要: A flexible pressure vessel is constructed from at least one pair of upper and mating lower dome shaped cell portions. The dome portions are molded from sheets of resilient material and joined together by radio frequency welding or high-strength adhesives. Upper and lower passageway portions extend outwardly from each cell portion to the surrounding sheet material. When the cell portions are joined the passageway portions are joined to form a passageway for connection to a valve or another cell. Upper and lower rings surround the upper and lower cell portions to provide reinforcement for the cells. First and second blankets of heavy-duty fiber reinforced material are attached over the upper and lower cell portions and stitched in place with heavy-duty stitching extending through the resilient material surrounding the cell portions. Cell shaped sponges impregnated with absorbent materials are encased in liquid and gas impermeable plastic tubing and inserted into the cells prior to joining of the cell portions. Heat-reflecting plastic film or metal foil is inserted between blankets and the cell portions. The heavy duty stitching is high-pressure loop and lock braiding. The passageway has a cross-section of between 0.050 and 0.100 inches. An apparatus and method are described for constructing the flexible pressure vessel.

摘要: A tank for cryogenic liquid fuel includes a tank with inner and outer shells. A support beam with its ends supported in endwalls of the outer shell extends through a central sleeve in the inner shell. Raised formations on the support beam engage the interior of the sleeve to support the inner shell within the outer shell. The sealed space formed between the shells inhibits heat conduction into cryogenic liquid fuel held in the inner shell. Pins extending transversely through the support beam prevent turning of the support beam in its endwall supports and turning of inner shell about the support beam. Getter material and radiation shielding placed about the support beam within the sleeve of the inner shell afford additional impediments to heat transfer into the inner shell.

摘要: The present invention provides a low cost coolant container that is easy to produce without decreasing its ability to maintain a coolant. The coolant container 1 comprises an outer container 11 and an inner container 12 wherein the cylindrical members 111 and 121 and the plate members 112 and 122 of the outer container 11 and the inner container 12 are engaged at the peripheral end such that even if an external force acts on the flat surface of the plate members 112 and 122 the stopping means 111a and 121a of the engaging portions A and B prevent the plate members 112 and 122 from sinking toward the hollow portion 13 side by supporting the plate members 112 and 122 and resisting the external force and as a result the container has the required structural strength and its ability to maintain a coolant is preserved. Moreover, because cylindrical members 111 and 121 and plate members 112 and 122 with simple shapes are used, it is not necessary to strengthen them by screwing the plate members 112 and 122 into the cylindrical members 111 and 121, and these material and processing costs can be avoided and a low cost product can be provided.
