    摘要: A computer-implemented model of fan section of a gas turbine engine accounts for the turbulence in the gas flow emanating from the rotor assembly and impinging upon an inlet to the stator vane cascade. The model allows for user-input variations in the sweep and/or lean angles for the stator vanes. The model determines the resulting acoustic response of the fan section as a function of the turbulence and the lean and/or sweep angles of the vanes. The model may be embodied in software that is rapidly executed in a computer. This way, an optimum arrangement in terms of fan noise reduction is quickly determined for the stator vane lean and sweep physical positioning in the fan section of a gas turbine engine.

    摘要: The present invention concerns mechanical signal processing comprising a mechanical adder as a basic building block. Such a mechanical adder (40), which is a basic element of the present invention, comprises a first micromechanical member (40.1) being sensitive to a first frequency (f.sub.1) and a second micromechanical member (40.2) being sensitive to a second frequency (f.sub.2). The two micromechanical members (40.1, 40.2) are coupled via a linear coupling (41) to provide a superposition (sum) of the two frequencies (f.sub.1 and f.sub.2). Based on the adder, AND-gates and OR-gates can be realized by adding further micromechanical members and appropriate linear and non-linear coupling elements.

    摘要: The multicomponent transducer of the present invention comprises a housing interior surfaces forming an enclosed cavity and a single inertial mass immersed in a magnetic fluid contained therein. The inertial mass is levitated in the magnetic fluid by means of ferrohydrodynamic forces. The housing cavity and the inertial mass are generally spherical in shape such that the inertial mass is substantially unconstrained with respect to the directions of motion to which it is responsive. The multicomponent transducer also includes a motion sensing system for sensing selected components of motion of the inertial mass and for generating signals representative of the magnitude and periodicity of the relative motion of the inertial mass with respect to the housing along one or more separate axes. The multicomponent transducer of the present invention has amplitude and phase responses similar to those of conventional transducers.

    摘要: The multicomponent transducer of the present invention comprises a housing having interior surfaces forming an enclosed cavity and a single inertial mass immersed in a magnetic fluid contained therein.     摘要: In accordance with the present invention, an impulse generator of high portability is provided using a pair of guillotinized, separately activated hammer/anvil sub-assemblies. Since each sub-assembly is horizontal positioned, say in contact with the earth from a position below the wheel of an exploration truck, the equivalent of the "flying blade" of a guillotine, i.e., a weighted hammer element, must be provided with horizontal movement. This is done by tensioning a plurality of springs attached between the hammer element and a rectangular main frame.During cocking and release of the hammer, the explorationist is provided with a series of visual signals in the form of deactivated and activated panel lights. These signals are automatically provided by controller means of the present invention. Release of the cocked hammer, however, is operator controlled for safety reasons say by activation of a latching means attached to the main frame of the assembly.

    摘要: A magnetoelastic shear force measuring means for measuring shear stresses in tubular axles, preferably in aircraft landing gear axles, comprises two shear stress transducers. Each transducer has one iron core with winding to generate a magnetic field in the measuring object and a second iron core with winding to sense the field alterations generated in the measuring object by shear stresses. The two transducers are combined to form a measuring unit which is inserted in the tubular axle. The windings on the cores of the transducers are connected in such a way that the shear signals are added and signals from any torsion occurring are subtracted from each other.
