摘要: An apparatus for recovering hose, particularly coupled fire hose, comprises a lifting frame assembly, a lifting arm attached to the lifting frame assembly, a plurality of guide rollers, a motor mounted on the lifting frame assembly, an electric switch, a powered rotational drive roller, a plurality of lower rollers, and a detachable support assembly. A biasing means biases the lifting frame assembly to a plurality of guide roller mounts to allow lifting and lowering of the lifting frame assembly to and from at first and second position to allow passage of hose fitted with hose couplings. When using the relatively simple apparatus, a single operator can efficiently collect infinite quantities of hose fitted with hose couplings.

摘要: A compound conduit containing inner and outer conduits with apertures in the former that are angled to direct jets of fluid in a rearward direction from the inner conduit into the annular space is used to draw sludge or undesirable material from a vessel without imposing a vacuum on the system. In conjunction with the compound conduit is a rotary tube seal that allows the conduit to be mounted to an orifice in a tank wall and pivoted or rotated over a range of angles. A tubing drive mechanism grasps the tubing at locations well removed from the distal end and causes the tubing to travel in the direction of the tubing axis. The gripping members in the mechanism engage the sides of the tubing and are capable of shifting position relative to each other to accommodate changes in the curvature of the tubing.

摘要: A wire tensioning arrangement is provided for applying tension in a wire supplied to a wire feeder. The wire tensioning arrangement includes first and second tensioning members positioned on a first axis to receive the wire therebetween. The first and second tensioning members are adapted to engage opposite sides of the wire at a location on the first axis to apply a tensioning force to the wire when the wire is pulled by the wire feeder in a direction substantially perpendicular to the first axis.

摘要: A wire feeding mechanism for advancing a continuous length of wire along a pathway includes a housing having two roller supports each rotatable about a corresponding axis transverse to a wire pathway. The roller supports are on opposite sides of the pathway and are driveably engaged with each other. A drive roller is on each of the roller supports for rotation therewith. The drive roller includes an outer surface extending circumferentially about the corresponding axis. The outer surface defines a groove having an included angle of less than ninety degrees (90°). The drive roller on each of the roller supports compressively contacts a continuous length of wire between the roller supports such that the wire is advanced along the pathway in response to rotation of the drive rollers.

摘要: The invention relates to a device for buffering a welding wire, whereby a wire buffer, in particular a wire buffer magazine is arranged between a wire advance device and a further wire advance device which is preferably arranged in the vicinity of a welding torch, or in the welding torch and the welding wire is run between the two wire advance devices in a wire core. According to the invention, a simple and compact a buffer device as possible and an improvement in the dynamic behaviour of the wire supply can be achieved, whereby the wire core is attached or fixed at one end and the other end thereof is free to move and the wire core with the welding wire is arranged such as to be free to move within a wire guide tube with a substantially larger cross-section than the outer diameter of the wire core and the buffer volume of the wire buffer magazine is defined by the cross-section and the length of the substantially larger wire guide tube.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for reducing catenary during winding of a fiber bundle which includes a plurality of fiber strands into a wound package. The method includes: applying substantially equal tension to each of a plurality of fiber strands; gathering the strands to form a bundle; advancing the bundle at a predetermined speed and tension toward a winding device; measuring the tension of the bundle; adjusting the tension of the bundle by adjusting the speed at which the bundle is advanced, such that (1) the speed of advancement of the bundle is increased when the measured tension of the bundle exceeds a predetermined value and (2) the speed of advancement of the bundle is decreased when the measured tension of the bundle is less than a second predetermined value; and winding the bundle to form a wound package. The apparatus includes a frame; a plurality of fiber strand supply packages; a plurality of tensioning devices for applying substantially equal tension to each of the fiber strands; a gathering device for gathering the fiber strands into a fiber bundle; a feed device for advancing the fiber bundle at a predetermined speed to a winding device; a tension sensing device for determining the tension in the bundle and providing a signal to a feed device controller which adjusts the speed of the feed device in response to the signal from the tension sensing device; and a winding device.

摘要: A turndown apparatus has first and second guide rollers arranged respectively along the inside and outside of a curved path along which bendable products such as bars, rods and the like move at high speeds. The guide rollers coact in pairs to define gaps spaced along the curved path, and a mechanism is provided for symmetrically adjusting the gaps defined between the guide rollers in order to accommodate different product sizes.
