    Abstract: A structure according to an embodiment includes a first substrate including a first valve and a second substrate joined to the first substrate. The structure includes a region where the first valve and the second substrate are not joined. A sticking suppressing section is provided in at least one of the first valve and the second substrate in the region. By configuring the structure in this way, it is possible to suppress sticking of the first valve to the second substrate in the structure including the first substrate including the first valve and the second substrate joined to the first substrate.

    Abstract: A diaphragm pump, a pump unit and an inkjet printer are provided. A housing of the diaphragm pump includes: a circular supporting groove portion for supporting a supported portion, and a passage opening for passing the supported portion to the supporting groove portion in a direction indicated by an arrow, where a shape of an outer edge of a cross section of the supported portion orthogonal to the direction indicated by an arrow is a shape of an outer edge of a circle in which a part of the outer edge is missing. A width of the passing opening at a coupling portion of the supporting groove portion and the passing opening is greater than or equal to a minimum width of the supported portion in the direction orthogonal to the direction indicated by the arrow and smaller than a maximum width of the supported portion in the relevant direction.

    Abstract: A pump assembly for generating and dispensing of particles of a solid material with or without dispensing of a fluid. The pump assembly preferably includes a fluid pump which in a cycle of operation draws the fluid through a fluid inlet and dispenses the fluid out a fluid outlet. The pump assembly carries a block of the solid material coalesced together and a rasp member, which during the cycle of operation, moves relative the rasp in engagement with the block whereby the rasp member disengages particles of the solid material from the block which particles drop under gravity downwardly adjacent the fluid outlet, for example, onto a user's hand as in the case that the fluid is a hand cleaning fluid and the solid is a solid soap.

    Abstract: A two-cavity pump having a single valve in one cavity and a bidirectional valve in another cavity is disclosed. The pump has a side wall closed by two end walls for containing a fluid. An actuator is disposed between the two end walls and functions as a portion of a common end wall of the two cavities. The actuator causes an oscillatory motion of the common end walls to generate radial pressure oscillations of the fluid within both cavities. An isolator flexibly supports the actuator. The first cavity includes the single valve disposed in one of a first and second aperture in the end wall to enable fluid flow in one direction. The second cavity includes the bidirectional valve disposed in one of a third and fourth aperture in the end wall to enable fluid flow in both directions.
