Abstract: The invention relates to a battery having at least two battery modules (1, 101, 102), wherein each battery module (1, 101, 102) comprises a plurality of battery cells (2), in particular lithium-ion battery cells, which are interconnected electrically in series and/or parallel, and further has a positive voltage tap (5) and a negative voltage tap (6), wherein a first module connecting element (7) is electrically conductively connected to the positive voltage tap (5) and/or a second module connecting element (8) is electrically conductively connected to the negative voltage tap (6) and one module connecting element (7, 8) of a first battery module (101) and one module connecting element (7, 8) of a second battery module (102) are electrically conductively connected. The electrically conductive connection of the module connecting elements (7, 8) is in the form of a plug connection.

Abstract: A battery pack for an electric vehicle may include a plurality of battery cells arranged into one or more rows. Each of the plurality of battery cells may include a first terminal and a second terminal, and the plurality of battery cells may include a subset of battery cells with the first terminal oriented in a same direction in the battery pack. The battery pack may also include a busbar configured to conduct electrical energy to and from at least the subset of battery cells. The busbar may include a plurality of cutouts positioned over the first terminals of the subset of battery cells, and a plurality of tabs that springably contact the respective first terminal. A method of building a battery pack with a busbar connection is also presented.

Abstract: Monobloc batteries include compartments containing cells. Terminals extend into the compartments and are electrically connected with the cells via tabs. The tabs are folded to form bent stacks and include openings in partial registration with each other. The terminals extend through the openings and are secured to the tabs. The terminals are off-center relative to the compartments to preserve space for the bent stacks.

Abstract: Batteries are provided that include a base including a body having a hole, and an inner wall extending away from the base and disposed around the hole. An interior of the inner wall and the hole form at least part of a through-hole extending through the battery. The battery includes an outer wall extending away from the base and disposed around the inner wall. Cells are disposed on the base and between the inner wall and the outer wall. Structural battery packs are also provided that include: a hollow elongated member including a first interior space between its first and second ends; and one or more batteries disposed around the hollow elongated member between its first and second ends. Each battery includes a through-hole. The hollow elongated member is disposed through the through-hole of each battery. Methods related to the batteries and the structural battery packs are also provided.

The current collector device is electrically connected to one of the positive electrode portions and the negative electrode portions and exits the cell housing (20, 21) via an opening (28, 428) formed in the cell housing (20, 21). The opening (28, 428) is formed in a side (22, 24) wall of the cell housing (20, 21) at a location spaced apart from the sealed joint (40) that closes the cell housing (20, 21) and at a location facing the stack axis (66).

Abstract: A connection member configured to electrically connect respective storage elements to each other in a power storage device constituted by a plurality of storage elements. The connection member includes: a substrate; and a plurality of connecting portions connected to electrodes of the respective storage elements and configured to cut off electric connection with the storage elements by fusing at the time when a current of a predetermined value or more flows therein. The connecting portion is formed by performing punching on the substrate and includes at least two bent portions bent in a punching direction. One of the bent portions is bent along a first direction perpendicular to the punching direction, and the other one of the bent portions is bent along a second direction perpendicular to the punching direction and perpendicular to the first direction.
