摘要： A reproducing apparatus reproduces a disc-shaped recording medium which is accommodated within a case comprising a jacket which has a space for accommodating the disc-shaped recording medium and an opening for allowing the disc-shaped recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid member inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket, where the lid member has cutouts and ride-over parts. The reproducing apparatus comprises an inserting opening through which the case is inserted, a turntable for rotating the disc-shaped recording medium, a clamping mechanism for clamping at least one of the disc-shaped recording medium and the lid member provided at an innermost part on the opposite side from the inserting opening with respect to the turntable, a detecting mechanism for detecting whether the disc-shaped recording medium is loaded within the reproducing apparatus, a reproducing transducer for reproducing the disc-shaped recording medium placed on the turntable, a reproducing operation mechanism for moving the reproducing transducer from a waiting position to a reproducing position with respect to the disc-shaped recording medium to perform a reproducing operation, and an operating mechanism connected to the detecting mechanism and the reproducing operation mechanism and operated upon starting of the reproducing operation, for operating the reproducing operation mechanism only when operated in a state where the detecting mechanism is detecting whether a disc-shaped recording medium is loaded within the reproducing apparatus.

摘要： A device for recovering video information from magnetic tape, which comprises a magnetic head assembly arranged within a current-carrying casing in a manner allowing rotation of the magnetic heads with a hollow shaft. The magnetic heads are electrically coupled to the winding of a slip-ring rotor. A closed three-dimensional coupling turn couples the rotor winding to the winding of a slip-ring stator. The stator winding is electrically coupled to a reproduction amplifier through a step-up transformer and a first reproduction signal correcting circuit. The output of the reproduction amplifier is connected to a second reproduction signal correcting circuit inductively coupled to a short-circuited turn which is partly arranged within the current-carrying casing. The short-circuited turn has a lower inductance as compared to the closed three-dimensional coupling turn.

摘要： In a VTR for recording and/or reproducing video signals in parallel tracks extending obliquely on a magnetic tape which is wrapped helically on a guide drum, rotary magnetic heads are associated with the guide drum to move in respective circular paths which coincide with the guide drum surface and which are axially spaced apart on the latter so that the heads obliquely traverse respective longitudinal zones substantially equally dividing the width of the magnetic tape. The angular spacing between the heads and the angular extent of the guide drum surface about which the tape is wrapped are selected so that, when the heads are rotated for obliquely traversing the respective tape zones in a repeating cyclic order, the latter has at least one overlapping interval in which two of the heads simultaneously scan oblique tracks in the respective zones. In the reproducing mode of the VTR, signals reproduced by the heads from tracks in the respective zones and being scanned in the repeating cyclic order are sequentially combined and, during each overlapping interval, a comparator senses phase differences between signals reproduced by the two heads which are then simultaneously traversing the respective zones and provides a corresponding compared output. A head shift signal is generated in response to such compared output and is employed, for example, by application to a bimorph leaf mounting at least one of the heads, for displacing such head in a direction along the respective tracks scanned thereby so as to eliminate the phase differences.

摘要： A guide drum apparatus includes: a stator plate having armature windings fixedly mounted on a surface thereof perpendicular to the axis of a center shaft. Rotary magnets are fixedly supported by the center shaft on a plane perpendicular to the axis of the center shaft and face the armature windings so that the magnetic fluxes from the armature windings cause the rotary magnets to rotate according to the operational principle of a brushless d.c. motor. A stationary hollow cylindrical drum coaxially and rotatably mounts the center shaft. A rotary hollow cylindrical drum coaxially and fixedly mounted on the center shaft and has a rotary head fixedly mounted at an outer peripheral surface thereof. The outer surfaces of the stationary and the rotary drums are arranged on the same cylindrical surface to form a magnetic tape guiding surface, and the hollows of the stationary and the rotary drums form a contiguous bore containing all of the rotary magnets, the armature windings and a rotary transformer therein. This guide drum apparatus can be made compact in size and yet can smoothly rotate the rotary head without disturbing the signals on the magnetic tape.

摘要： In a reel-to-reel longitudinally scanned tape transport or recorder, a length of media is positioned to fly in transducing relationship with a transducing head. The transducing head is mounted on a rotatable turntable rotor. The rotor includes a substantially circular member with concentric horizontal surfaces projecting in separate vertical planes. A cam shaped contour is fabricated on one of the horizontal surfaces with the transducing means positioned at the peak or crown of said cam shaped surface. There is a gradual roll off between the crown and the lowest point of the cam shaped surface. The roll off creates a converging channel which allows a sufficient volume of air to enter the interface between the media and the head and a diverging channel which allows the air to be bled off.
