摘要: Systems and methods for controlling access to one or more media devices that may be shared among multiple users, such as multiple residents in a controlled-environment facility, are described herein. In some embodiments, a method includes operating at least one computer system. Operating the at least one computer system includes checking out a media device. Checking out the media device comprises enabling the media device for use for a first duration of a first timer. Operating the at least one computer system further includes, upon expiration of the first duration of the first timer, disabling use of the media device, and checking in the media device. The media device is prohibited from being checked out for a second duration of a second timer.

摘要: The technology disclosed herein enables redistribution of connections between service instances by determining a subset of the connections and terminating the subset. In a particular example, a method includes determining connection information about connections established with service instances operating in an active-active configuration. The connection information identifies directions of connection initiation for the connections and identifies peers for the connections. Based on the connection information, the method includes determining a subset of the connections for reestablishment on a per-peer basis using direction-dependent criteria and terminating the subset of the connections.

摘要: A kiosk device is shared by many users of an organization in a sequential manner. The kiosk is provisioned so that each of the appropriate users of the organization may use it, and so that each such user may be provided with a federated identity by an external identity provider (IdP) system. The federated identity may be used to automatically provide the user with access to the user's different resources (e.g., the user's accounts on various third-party applications). An authenticator component of the kiosk device communicates with the external IdP system so as to securely and transparently provide the users with a federated identity. In order to provide additional security, the authenticator component and/or the IdP system may take into account organization-specific details when authenticating a user, such as whether a particular user is expected to be on duty with the organization at the current time.
