Abstract: The technology disclosed herein enables redistribution of connections between service instances by determining a subset of the connections and terminating the subset. In a particular example, a method includes determining connection information about connections established with service instances operating in an active-active configuration. The connection information identifies directions of connection initiation for the connections and identifies peers for the connections. Based on the connection information, the method includes determining a subset of the connections for reestablishment on a per-peer basis using direction-dependent criteria and terminating the subset of the connections.

Abstract: Apparatuses, components and methods are provided herein useful to provide assistance to customers and/or workers in a shopping facility. In some embodiments, a shopping facility personal assistance system comprises: a plurality of motorized transport units located in and configured to move through a shopping facility space; a plurality of user interface units, each corresponding to a respective motorized transport unit during use of the respective motorized transport unit; and a central computer system having a network interface such that the central computer system wirelessly communicates with one or both of the plurality of motorized transport units and the plurality of user interface units, wherein the central computer system is configured to control movement of the plurality of motorized transport units through the shopping facility space based at least on inputs from the plurality of user interface units.

Abstract: An ambient transaction system is described for facilitating various transactions types between a management system and a connected device over a transaction platform. Based on a variety of different triggering conditions, the transaction platform may establish an integrated session among the transaction platform, the management system, and the connected device. The transaction platform includes integrated logic of the management system such that a presentment layer provided to the connected device by the transaction platform via the integrated session includes features of the management system associated with the transaction type. When the transaction is a payment transaction, the features may include a payment feature through which checkout options may be selected for payment via the connected device. Upon receiving a payment selection from the connected device, the transaction platform may transmit the payment information to a payment processing system, and provide payment confirmation to at least the management system.

A method comprises receiving a first request from a first client device of a user to initiate an interactive session with a cloud-based client application, reserving an application engine for executing the cloud-based client application remotely from the first client device, receiving interaction data from the first client device as the user engages with a first media data associated with the cloud-based client application, modifying the cloud-based client application executing within the application engine that is reserved based on the interaction data received from the first client device, receiving a second request from the first client device to end the interactive session with the cloud-based client application that is modified, and deallocating the application engine that is reserved, wherein the application engine that is reserved is delinked from the first client device.

Abstract: In an implementation, a shutdown coordinator sends an instruction to a router to no longer assign new sessions to an application instance, where the application instance is to be shut down. The shutdown coordinator sends a request to the application instance to export associated sessions for handover to a new application instance. The shutdown coordinator receives an indication from the application instance that no further requests can be processed by the application instance since all associated sessions have been exported to an external session storage. The shutdown coordinator instructs the router to redirect requests to the application instance to the new application instance. The shutdown coordinator shuts down the application instance. The shutdown coordinator deletes remaining sessions of all associated sessions from the external session storage after a defined timeout period.

Abstract: According to examples, a host device may be instructed to pre-spawn a number of first host processes and a number of second host processes, in which the number of first host processes and the number of second host processes are defined in a first scaling constraint and are each greater than or equal to one. The host device may pre-spawn the second host processes in one or more computing nodes through identification of a host process of the first host processes that is unbound from a client session, termination of the identified host process, and pre-spawning of a second host process that provides a second version of the service based on the termination. The host device may also decrease the number of first host processes and increase the number of second host processes in the one or more computing nodes as defined in a second scaling constraint.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and evicting idle sessions include training a machine learning model as a session classifying model to learn rules for classifying active sessions between clients and the cloud-based service. The session classifying model is trained to receive a plurality of parameters pertaining to the document associated with an active session as input and to apply the rules to the plurality of parameters to determine a classification for the active session and to provide an output indicative of the classification for the active session. The session classifying model is then utilized in the cloud-based service to classify the active sessions. The system further can perform an exchange of the asset between the first side and the second side of the transaction based on the particular value of the range of values.
