摘要: A volume provisioning advisor for managing storage allocation in a plurality of virtual storage subsystems is disclosed. A request for data storage and workload requirements is received from a user. Performance information for storage controllers and managed disks within a virtualization engine is received. Resource groups are defined based on the received performance information and available managed disks, and their utilizations tracked. Resource group performance within the virtualization engine is predicted based on the user workload requirements and existing or historical resource group utilization. Storage is allocated to one or more managed disks within the virtualization engine based on predicted resource group performance.

摘要: In the present invention, the subscriber unit (200) obtains a set of access point identifiers and measurement opportunity information for each access point identifier. A first measurement is performed on a first access point identified from the set of access point identifiers. A current timer value is determined after completing the step of performing, and a second access point identified from the set of access point identifiers in which to perform a second measurement is selected. Selecting the second access point is based on at least the measurement opportunity information for the second access point in relation to the current timer value.

摘要: The invention disclosed herein provides a replaceable edge cassette for skis or a snowboard. The skis have a top, a base, a core, two sides, and edges along the sides of the base. The cassette includes an edge portion removably secured adjacent the base of the ski. The edge portion has an attachment portion for securing the edge portion to the ski and a peripheral portion for contact with the surface to be ridden. The cassette includes a sidewall portion secured to the edge portion. A fastener is connectable through the sidewall portion to be secured to the ski adjacent the core. Base material is also secured beneath the removable edge portion so as to be adjacent the main base portion when the cassette is secured to the side of the ski. The edge cassette is removable and replaceable by removing the fasteners secured through the sidewall. The edge alone may also be separately replaceable by removing it from the sidewall portion.

摘要: To allow a user to access a public data network from a region of service operated by a visited access provider, the visited provider is supplied with an identity of a credit provider. The user is redirected to the credit provider, resulting in establishment of a temporary connection with the credit provider. During this temporary connection, the user supplies original user credentials and, in return, receives substitute user credentials if the original user credentials are valid. The substitute user credentials are supplied to the visited provider, which proceeds to have the user authenticated by the credit provider on the basis of the substitute user credentials. In this way, the visited provider authenticates the user with the credit provider before allowing the user to access the public data network, but a secure exchange of the original user credentials between the user and the credit provider prevents unauthorized access to this information by the visited provider.

摘要: A method and apparatus for operating a source synchronous receiver. In one embodiment, a source synchronous receiver may include a clock receiver comprising a clock detector and a clock signal buffer. The clock detector may be configured to detect a first clock signal and assert a clock detect signal responsive to detecting the first clock signal. The clock buffer may receive the first clock signal and produce a second clock signal, which may be driven to a digital locked loop (DLL) circuit, where the second clock signal is regenerated and driven to a data buffer of the source synchronous receiver. The clock detect signal may be received by a clock verification circuit. The clock verification circuit may be configured to initiate a reset of the source synchronous receiver upon a failure to receive the clock detect signal. The resetting of the source synchronous receiver may be performed locally, and does not reset the core logic of the device in which it is implemented, nor any other source synchronous port on the device. Thus, other source synchronous ports on the device, as well as the core logic, may be able to continue operations as normal. The method and apparatus may include a source synchronous receiver that is hot-swappable.

摘要: The invention provides an enhanced passive scanning method for a wireless local area network, including the steps of transmitting at least one of a beacon signal or a gratuitous probe response in a WLAN channel by an access point. The gratuitous probe response is a supplemental beacon signal that is transmitted at intervals between the occurrence of regular beacon signals, but contains only essential information to allow mobile station manage roaming and timing.

摘要: A method of providing RF signal quality information which includes the step of a probe request generator (110) monitoring a channel for probe requests being transmitted by a station (115) and/or probe responses being transmitted by an access point (105). The probe request generator can determine a time period between the successive probe request transmissions received from the station or successive probe responses received from the AP. The probe request generator can generate a series of probe requests (150) having the determined time period between successive probe request transmissions. The series of probe requests signal an access point (105) to transmit probe responses (155) which are detectable by the station.

摘要: A device configured to recover and repeat source synchronous data. The device is configured to receive source synchronous data via a first interface and recover the received data utilizing a first clock signal which is generated to be approximately ninety degrees out of phase with the received clock signal. A second clock signal is generated to be in phase with the received source synchronous clock signal. The second clock signal is the utilized to select a newly generated clock signal and latched data for transmission in a source synchronous manner. The device is further configured to shift the phase of the generated first clock signal to be approximately ninety degrees out of phase with the received data signal.
