    摘要: A syringe needle safety apparatus comprising a syringe barrel having an open end and an opposite end adapted for a needle and a needle safety cover displaceable between a un-deployed state wherein the cover is constrained and the needle exposed, and a deployed state wherein the cover covers at least the needle tip. A plunger is slidably engaged in the syringe barrel and at least one element secures the needle safety cover in the un-deployed state. Biasing means urge the needle safety cover from the un-deployed state to the deployed state, and a housing is coupled to the opposite end of the syringe barrel, the housing comprising a corresponding securing member and a deformable member, the deformable member releasing the at least one element from the corresponding securing member upon receiving a releasing force via the plunger. During deployment, the needle safety mechanism provides for the needle safety cover to avoid contact with the needle, reducing or eliminating blood contact.

The system includes the first container that has container body with an opening fluidly connected to a cavity defined by the container body, a first substance contained in the cavity, and a stopper sealing the opening. The second container includes a port assembly including a port housing connected to the second container and a retainer constructed to connect to the first container. The retainer is configured to rotate and move axially relative to the port housing, wherein relative rotation between the port housing and the retainer causes the retainer to move axially relative to the port housing. The port assembly further includes an axially fixed actuator constructed to force the stopper into the first container when the retainer is rotated relative to the port housing.

    摘要: A shoe releasing assembly for use with an orthotic bar or splint is disclosed. The shoe releasing assembly comprises a bar attachment member securable to a bar or splint, a shoe attachment member securable to the sole of a shoe, and latching means to secure the bar and shoe members. The bar attachment member comprises a base, a wall section at least partially surrounding the base. When one of the attachment members comprises a wall section defining a recess, the corresponding member comprises a wall section having a shape conforming to the recess for vertically inclined insertion. Methods of treating foot disorders using the assembly are also disclosed.

A first check valve restricts communication from the expandable chamber to the internal passage, and a second check valve restricts communication from the internal passage to the opening. Methods of reconstituting and/or withdrawing hazardous material using the vial adapter are described.
