摘要: A device for thermal control of a battery system includes a heating control module electrically connected to the battery system and a conversion device configured to control power output from the battery system. The heating control module is configured to measure a current through the conversion device, the measured current provided by the battery system of a vehicle during vehicle operation or provided by an energy source during vehicle charging. The heating control module is also configured to control the conversion device to generate an alternating current (AC) heating current using the measured current, and apply the AC heating current to the battery system to heat the battery system to a desired temperature.

A controller dynamically activates an operational mode of the vehicle during vehicle operation, the operational mode being one of a plurality of possible operational modes. Each of the possible operational modes defines which of the two or more battery packs are connected to the one or more motors and, based on two or more of the two or more battery packs being connected to the one or more motors, also defines an interconnection among the two or more of the two or more battery packs. The plurality of possible operational modes includes a first operational mode defining a series connection between the two or more battery packs and second operational mode defining a parallel connection between the two or more battery packs.

摘要: A system in a vehicle includes a first winding section including first two or more windings and a second winding section including second two or more windings. Each of the second two or more windings corresponds to one of the first two or more windings of the first winding section. The system also includes an inverter including a high side switch and a low side switch corresponding to each of the first two or more windings. The inverter is coupled to a battery of the vehicle and boosts a voltage of a direct current (DC) charger during charging of the battery with the DC charger, converts alternating current (AC) from an AC grid to DC during charging of the battery with the AC grid, and converts DC to AC during supply of the AC grid by the battery.

摘要: A system in a vehicle includes a first fuse connected between a power source and a load. The first fuse is an electronic fuse (eFuse) to disconnect the load from the power source via the first fuse based on opening a first fuse switch. The system also includes a second fuse connected between the power source and the load via a second fuse switch. The first fuse and the second fuse are part of a cluster of fuses. A controller opens the first fuse switch and keeps the second fuse switch closed based on the vehicle entering a key-off mode in which the vehicle is turned off.

摘要: A system in a vehicle includes two or more modules. Each of the two or more modules includes battery cell groups. The battery cell groups of the two or more modules provide propulsion power for the vehicle. The two or more modules also include a voltage sensor to measure a voltage output by the battery cell groups of the module, a temperature sensor arranged to measure a temperature within the module, a gas sensor arranged to sense a hydrogen level within the module, and an infrared sensor positioned to obtain an infrared radiation profile within the module. The system also includes two or more relays, one of the two or more relays being arranged to electrically isolate one of the two or more modules based on the voltage, the temperature, the hydrogen level, or the infrared radiation profile for the one of the two or more modules.

摘要: A power control system for a propulsion system of a vehicle includes an energy storage system including a precharge circuit and one or more battery packs. A DC-DC converter is connected to the energy storage system and including a first capacitor, a first plurality of power switches and an inductor. A power inverter module is connected to the DC-DC converter and including a second capacitor and a second plurality of power switches. A controller is configured to pre-charge the first capacitor of the DC-DC converter and the second capacitor of the power inverter module and control operating modes of the DC-DC converter and the power inverter module.

摘要: A system for modular dynamically adjustable capacity storage for a vehicle is provided. The system includes a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells, a negative terminal including a chassis ground connection, and a plurality of positive battery pack terminals. The negative terminal and the plurality of positive battery pack terminals are useful for connecting at least one electrical circuit through the battery pack. The system further includes a battery cell switching system, including a plurality of solid-state switches connected to each of the battery cells. The plurality of solid-state switches is operable to selectively connect a portion of the battery cells in parallel, selectively connect the portion of the battery cells in series, and selectively connect one of the plurality of battery cells to one of the plurality of positive battery pack terminals.

摘要: An automotive vehicle includes a vehicle-based charging unit including a receiving unit configured to receive power from a ground-based charging unit, the receiving unit including a multi-coil receiver, a first actuator operably coupled to the vehicle-based charging unit and configured to adjust a first position of the vehicle-based charging unit relative to the ground-based charging unit, and a controller configured to selectively actuate the first actuator. The controller is configured to receive first performance indicator data indicating a first alignment between the charging units, determine an alignment error between the charging units and calculate a first position adjustment of the vehicle-based charging unit, automatically control the first actuator to implement the first position adjustment of the vehicle-based charging unit, and receive second performance indicator data indicating a second alignment between the charging units, the second alignment resulting in a desired power transfer efficiency between the charging units.

摘要: A charging system of an electrical automobile vehicle includes a converter unit and a first energy storage system of within a first automobile vehicle. A charging cable is releasably connected from the first energy storage system to a charging station or is releasably connected to a second energy storage system of a second automobile vehicle. A vehicle charging controller is connected to the converter unit and programmed to communicate with the charging station and to the second energy storage system. A plurality of low-loss switching devices of the converter unit are selectively operated by signals from the vehicle charging controller to position the plurality of low-loss switching devices in an on-state (ON) or an off-state (OFF) to control charging the first energy storage system from the charging station or charging the second energy storage system from the first energy storage system.
