    摘要: An improved process for preparing the antimicrobial compound flumequine is disclosed. The first step of the process comprises reacting 4-fluoroaniline with crotonaldehyde under acidic conditions at a temperature between 50.degree. and 60.degree. C. In the second step, the product of the first step is treated to provide a mixture of 6-fluoroquinaldine and 6-fluorotetrahydroquinaldine. This mixture is then treated with base in the presence of weak acid followed by reducing to provide 6-fluorotetrahydroquinaldine. This compound is then treated according to known procedures to form flumequine.

    摘要: An essentially solventless process for preparing a hot melt-processable release material comprises the step of providing reactants to a reactor, wherein the reactants comprise at least one backbone polymer having a grafting site that is reactive with a release component to selectively form a release moiety substituent at the grafting site; and a release component that is reactive with the grafting site. The release component is used in an effective amount for imparting release properties to the resulting release material. Also disclosed are release materials preparable thereby and coated substrates comprising the release material. Advantageously, release materials of the present invention are preparable and coatable using a single extruder.

    摘要: The invention provides a radiation curable release coating composition comprising: (a) about 1 to about 50 percent by weight of a cationically reactive polydiorganosiloxane liquid rubber having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R are monovalent moieties which can be the same or different selected from the group consisting of alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, and substituted aryl wherein at least about 50% of the total number of silicon atoms have two methyl groups bonded thereto; E is an organic monovalent functional group comprising from about 1 to about 20 carbon atoms having at least one cationically co-reactive functional group; a and b both represent integers, wherein the sum of a plus b is an integer of about 10 to about 1200; b has a value ranging from about 0 to about 0.2 a; a is an integer of about 10 to about 1000; and M is a silyl group which must contain at least one cationically co-reactive functional group when b=0 and may contain at least one cationically co-reactive group when b is greater than 0; (b) about 50 to about 99 percent by weight of at least one cationically co-reactive monomer copolymerizable with said cationically co-reactive functional group of said polydiorganosiloxane liquid rubber; wherein the percentages of (a) and (b) are based on the total weight of (a) plus (b); and (c) about 0.5 to about 4 parts by weight of a photoactive radiation activatable cationically reactive catalyst based on the weight of (a) plus (b). The invention also provides release coatings and methods of making release coatings.
