摘要: During fabrication of a write head via holes are first opened in a gap layer, followed by formation of seed layers instead of the other way around. Moreover a first seed layer is formed, and without the first seed layer being used a second seed layer is formed. The second seed layer (which is the topmost layer) is used in plating to form coils (e.g. of copper) for the write head. After coil formation, the first seed layer is used for plating to form vias (e.g. of NiFe). The two seed layers may be formed in a single operation by using two different targets in a vacuum deposition chamber. Moreover, a single insulation layer is sufficient to insulate and protect all plated elements, regardless of whether they are formed by use of the first seed layer or the second seed layer.

摘要: A magnetic write head for use in a data recording system having first and second magnetic pole, the first pole having a P1 pedestal. An electrically conductive coil passes through a space between the first and second poles for inducing a magnetic flux through the yoke formed by the first and second poles. A bi-layer insulation layer disposed between the poles includes a layer of photoresist for preventing voids and a layer of alumina formed thereover to provide a structural brace to prevent recession of the P1 pedestal during manufacturing operations such as soda blast.

摘要: A multi-axis chuck that rotates about at least two axes. Preferably, the axes are perpendicular. The multi-axis chuck includes a first portion, second portion, and third portion. Rear sides of the first portion and the second portion have a first mating portion that mates with a second mating portion provided on the second portion and the third portion, respectively. The mating portions enable the first portion and the second portion to be rotated about the axes. Preferably, the first portion rotates about a first axis independently of the second and third portions. Rotation of the second portion about a second axis preferably also rotates the first portion about the second axis. The multi-chuck is operatively connected to a motor, controller, and sensors. A user inputs a desired position into the controller that controls the motor. The motor rotates the multi-axis chuck to the desired position. The sensors are used to determine a position of the multi-axis chuck. The controller determines whether the position determined matches the desired position.

摘要: An optical conductor of the monomode type comprises an optical fiber covered by a primary layer surrounded by a secondary layer. To reduce the cost of fabricating the conductor, the secondary layer includes an outer part of a thermoplastics material the apparent viscosity of which at the melting point is at most approximately 100 Pascal-second at a shear rate at least equal to 100 s.sup.-1. The primary layer and the inner part of the secondary layer are made from a resin that can be cross-linked using ultraviolet radiation, for example.

摘要: A method for remotely controlling a video game apparatus with two player systems for two rival players, in which the information transmitted by a first and a second transmitter are modulated by the same carrier frequency fc and transmitted to a receiver of the video game apparatus. The transmission of both transmitters are periodical groups of transmission cycles in which information is incorporated. In order to identify the source of each of the received transmission cycles, a transmitter-identifying code is incorporated in each transmission cycle. A transmission cycle is taken as invalid and rejected by the receiver if its span is overlapped by the span of any transmission cycle of the other transmitter, and is only taken as valid and accepted by the receiver, if its span is not overlapped by the span of any transmission cycle of the other transmitter. The distribution of transmission cycles in the transmission of both transmitters are such that in each period Tp there is at least valid transmission cycle despite the phase difference of the transmission of the two transmitters. To achieve this object, a period T.sub.p of transmisison is divided into eight intervals, T. T is slightly greater than a transmission cycle T1, thus leaving a gap T2 between two adjacent transmission cycles. The distribution of transmission cycles (represented by 1) and blank intervals (represented by 0) in each period is 1100110 for the first player system, and 11110000 for the second player system.

摘要: Systems and methods of linking media content information are provided. A particular method of linking media content information includes receiving data including first descriptive information associated with an electronic version of particular media content. The method also includes searching a database, based on the first descriptive information, to identify second descriptive information. The second descriptive information is associated with a physical media product and the physical media product stores the particular media content. Additionally, the method includes storing a data record in memory relating the electronic version of the particular media content to the second descriptive information.
