Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that effectuate establishment of an IPSec tunnel for utilization in a wireless communication environment. IPSec establishment procedures on home base stations can be used to establish IPSec tunnels between home base stations situated on open access sectors of wireless communication environments and packet data interworking function components positioned at the contiguity of secured segments of the wireless communication environments. Moreover, high rate packet data point-to-point protocol challenge-handshake authentication protocols can be directed through the IPSec tunnels to facilitate authentication of access terminals associated with the home base stations in order to facilitate further communications with components dispersed within secure areas of wireless communication environments. Further, international mobile subscriber identities (IMSI) affiliated with access terminals associated with home base stations can be used to identify packet data serving nodes with which to establish communications between home base stations and packet data serving nodes.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and devices for prioritizing communication technologies to allocate resources in a mobile device. The mobile device may employ a dual subscription, dual active (DSDA) configuration in which two subscriptions may be associated with concurrently active communications, such as voice or data calls. The mobile device may identify current states that indicate the type of communications associated with the subscriptions. In an embodiment, an applications processor within the mobile device may perform the state identifications. The mobile device may determine priorities of the concurrently active subscriptions based on the identified states. In an embodiment, the priorities may be determined by a modem processor within the mobile device. When the priorities are determined to be the same, the mobile device may perform a tiebreaker algorithm to further identify priorities. Based on the determined priorities, the mobile device may allocate resources to favor the subscription with the higher priority.
Abstract:
The various embodiments provide methods implemented in a MSMA communication device for managing a victim subscription's de-sense by proactively implementing an RF coexistence management strategy on the victim subscription when an RF coexistence event starts. In various embodiments, a MSMA communication device may implement an RF coexistence management strategy by determining when an aggressor subscription will de-sense a victim subscription and configuring the victim to anticipate and mitigate de-sense during the aggressor's transmissions. Thus, the various embodiments may provide dramatic improvements to the victim's overall reception performance and overall user experience.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and techniques for wireless communications. For instance, a wireless device may receive a signal from a first wireless network while the wireless device is in an idle mode; determine, from the received signal, a signal to noise ratio (SNR) and a doppler shift; retrieve stored network capability information; and estimate, based on the SNR, the doppler shift, and the stored network capability information, a throughput of the first wireless network.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an apparatus may determine a time-averaged power limit of a set of antennas. The apparatus may modify an antenna switching configuration based at least in part on the time-averaged power limit. The apparatus may transmit a signal using an antenna, from the set of antennas, associated with the modified antenna switching configuration, wherein the antenna is associated with a higher power limit than one or more other antennas. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for determining a transmit power based on a pattern and/or future conditions for a transmission while maintaining radio frequency (RF) exposure compliance. An example method generally includes obtaining a pattern associated with one or more first transmissions, determining a transmit power for one or more second transmissions based at least in part on the pattern and an RF exposure limit, and transmitting the one or more second transmissions at the determined transmit power.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure are generally directed to extended signaling protocols for multi-subscriber identity module (MSIM) user-equipment (UE) for new radio (NR). For example, certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a UE. The method generally includes receiving a first message from a network entity enquiring regarding information associated with a multi-subscriber identify module (SIM) capability of the UE, determining the information associated with the multi-SIM capability of the UE in response to the inquiry from the network entity, and communicating one or more messages to indicate the information regarding the multi-SIM capability to the network entity.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, via a subscription of the UE to a network node, a UE assistance information (UAI) that indicates a reduction to one uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layer for the subscription. The UE may transmit, via the subscription to the network node, an uplink transmission using one uplink MIMO layer on one transmit (Tx) chain of the UE based at least in part on the UAI and a timer associated with the UAI. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may establish a first communication link using a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may establish a second communication link using a second RAT. The UE may determine whether to prioritize antenna selection for the first communication link using the first RAT or the second communication link using the second RAT. The UE may prioritize antenna selection for the first communication link or the second communication link based at least in part on the determination. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) user equipment (UE) may communicate, using a first SIM, on a plurality of component carriers. The multi-SIM UE may select a first subset of component carriers from the plurality of component carriers based at least in part on a component carrier prioritization. The multi-SIM UE may identify an amount of memory available to a second SIM. The multi-SIM UE may tune away, based at least in part on the amount of memory available to the second SIM, from a second subset of component carriers The first subset of component carriers may be different from the second subset of component carriers. Numerous other aspects are described.
