    摘要: A needle guide kit is provided which includes a needle guide, a retainer and a tether. The needle guide is coupled to an ultrasound device either directly or via an adapter. The needle guide has an open v-shaped slot which can receive a number of different needle sizes. The retainer can be attached to the needle guide to form a needle channel between the needle guide and retainer. Each retainer corresponds to a different needle size whereas each of the different needle guides correspond to a different trajectory for advancing the needle. The kit may also include a tether which is coupled to one of the components by the user. The tether prevents loss of one or more of the components when the components are detached or decoupled when completing the procedure.

    摘要: The invention relates to optical elements, particularly retro-reflecting, retro-imaging and optical transmission inversion elements to relay a true scale equal conjugate image of a scene. Hitherto, the image had a resolution limit set by the pitch and/or packing density of micro-optical elements to reflect or transmit ray bundles impinging on them, the number of elements within the viewing zone determining the lateral and hence depth resolution in any given direction. The object of the invention is to reduce the effect of micro-screen texture in a relatively inexpensive manner, that provides real-time systems and which can be used with fast moving objects. This objective is met by an optical element comprising a retro-reflecting or auto-collimating transmission screen (9) having one or more lenses (6,10) and an associated means (8,11) of displacing wavelengths to different degrees and whereby to spread a reflected or transmitted image into a spectral streak. The means (8,11) of displacing wavelengths may be a grating, mechanically or optically blazed, or formed from prisms, or may be a diffraction or zone plate.

    摘要: A measurement means for a downhole tool for determining the orientation of the axis of a downhole tool in relation to true north. It includes a gyro sensor capable of measuring angular rate, a rotation means for rotating the gyro sensor about a sensor axis, a measurement means to detect the angular rate at the gyro sensor as it is rotated to form a series of readings, and a processor capable of interpreting the signal amplitude from the series of readings and determining the points of greatest signal amplitude. The processor is also being capable of comparing the phase difference between the actual readings taken against what would be generated with the sensor pointing true north thus providing a downhole tool axis angular deviation from true north. The rotation means rotates the gyro sensor in discrete steps.
