摘要: The invention relates to a lighting apparatus comprising a conversion material (2) for converting primary light (4) into secondary light (5), wherein the conversion material (2) comprises converting photolummescent material (15), which degrades to non-converting photolummescent material over time when the conversion material (2) is illuminated by the primary light (4). The conversion material (2) is adapted such that, when the conversion material (2) is illuminated by the primary light (4), the relative decrease in concentration of the converting photolummescent material (15) within the conversion material (2) is larger than the relative decrease in intensity of the secondary light (5). This allows the lighting apparatus to provide an only slightly reduced absorbance of the primary light, even if a large part of the photolummescent material has been bleached, and thus a longer lifetime, with the same or a slightly reduced intensity of the secondary light.

摘要: The invention relates to a self-supporting luminescent film (10), a phosphor-enhanced illumination system and to a method of manufacturing the self-supporting luminescent film. The self-supporting luminescent film comprises luminescent particles (20) and an organic polymer (30). The luminescent particles comprise luminescent material which is arranged for absorbing at least part of the impinging light impinging on the luminescent particles and for converting the absorbed light into converted light. The converted light has a predefined spectrum different from the impinging light. The organic polymer interconnects the luminescent particles to form the self-supporting luminescent film, wherein the self-supporting luminescent film comprises less than 10 weight percentage of organic polymer. The effect of the measures according to the invention is that the close packing of the luminescent particles generates a substantially uniform self-supporting luminescent film.

摘要: The invention relates to light emitting devices (2) with variable output color. More specifically, the inventions provides a color conversion cell (10) which can be positioned in front of a light source (4) in order to generate other color or color temperatures. Typically the light source is a light emitting diode (LED) which is power efficient but emits in a narrow and fixed spectra. The new colors are generated by photoluminescence in fluorescent dyes contained in the cell. The color converting of the cell is electrically controllable, preferably by controlling the orientation, density or distribution of the fluorescent dyes, or by controlling a pathlength of the light in the cell.
