    摘要: A method and system for generating a channel quality indication (CQI) for a communication channel established between a transmitter and a receiver. A signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) estimate of the communication channel is calculated and a correction term is generated based on a data packet transmitted by the transmitter. A corrected SIR is generated by combining the SIR estimate and the first correction term. The corrected SIR is mapped to a CQI value. The CQI value is sent to the transmitter in order to adjust the configuration of the next data packet transmitted by the transmitter. The first correction term may be generated by subtracting a target packet error rate (PER) from a filtered binary signal derived from negative-acknowledgement (NACK) signals and acknowledgement (ACK) signals which respectfully indicate whether or not errors exist in data packets transmitted by the transmitter.

    摘要: A wireless communication method and apparatus for detecting and decoding enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) indicator channel (E-HICH) transmissions are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives E-HICH transmissions and detects an H-ARQ indicator transmitted via the E-HICH by performing a binary hypothesis test. The WTRU then generates an acknowledgement (ACK) message or a non-acknowledgement (NACK) message based on the detected H-ARQ indicator. A reliability test may be further performed to improve performance, whereby the binary hypothesis test may be performed only if the reliability test is passed.

    摘要: A wireless communication apparatus which uses fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver which incorporates a beam space antenna array. The beam space antenna array may be implemented with a Butler matrix array. The beam space antenna array may be a circular array, vertical array, or a combination of both circular and vertical arrays, for providing the desired angular antenna coverage. In one embodiment, the antenna array is optimized because the FFTs are linear invariant transform operators, whereby the order of operations in the OFDM receiver can be interchanged.

    摘要: A process for providing a metal-seeded liquid crystal polymer comprising the steps of providing a liquid crystal polymer substrate to be treated by applying an aqueous solution comprising an alkali metal hydroxide and a solubilizer as an etchant composition for the liquid crystal polymer substrate. Further treatment of the etched liquid crystal polymer substrate involves depositing an adherent metal layer on the etched liquid crystal polymer substrate. An adherent metal layer may be deposited using either electroless metal plating or vacuum deposition of metal such as by sputtering.When using electroless metal plating, a tin(II) solution applied to the liquid crystal polymer provides a treated liquid crystal polymer substrate to which the application of a palladium(II) solution provides the metal-seeded liquid crystal polymer. The etchant composition comprises a solution in water of from 35 wt. % to 55 wt. % of an alkali metal salt, and from 10 wt. % to 35 wt. % of a solubilizer dissolved in the solution to provide the etchant composition suitable for etching the liquid crystal polymer at a temperature from 50° C. to 120° C. A flexible circuit comprising a liquid crystal polymer film having through-holes and related shaped voids may be formed using etchant compositions as previously described.
