摘要: A heat blow molding apparatus includes a supply section 110, a heating station 112, a transfer section 114 and a blow molding station 116, all of which are disposed linearly in a direction A in which preforms 118 are carried. The supply section 110 supplies the preforms 118 each having a neck portion in their inverted state. The heating station 112 simultaneously heats the inverted preforms 118 while they are being carried parallel to each other. The transfer section 114 transfers the inverted preforms 118 after they have been heated by the heating station. The blow molding station 116 simultaneously blow molds the inverted preforms 118 transferred from the transfer section 114 into containers.

摘要: A photographing operation control device has an electro-developing recording medium to electronically develop an image formed thereon. An exposure calculation is performed based on a photometry value corresponding to an object to be photographed, so that the exposure period of the electro-developing recording medium is determined. When the exposure period is longer than an output period for which a recording medium activating signal for enabling the electro-developing recording medium to develop the image is outputted, it is determined that the exposure of the electro-developing recording medium is impossible, and the photographing operation is prevented and a warning indicating that the photographing operation is impossible is performed.

摘要: An aligning method of a chiral smectic liquid crystal includes the steps of: disposing a chiral smectic liquid crystal between a pair of electrode plates, the chiral smectic liquid crystal having a layer spacing-changing characteristic providing a layer spacing which increases on temperature decrease in a first temperature range in smectic A phase; and subjecting the chiral smectic liquid crystal to a heat treatment including a sequence of cooling from a higher temperature phase to a second temperature range in smectic A phase including at least a portion of the first temperature range, at least one cycle of heating and cooling within the second temperature range, and further cooling to a smectic phase lower than smectic phase. The heat treatment, particularly at least one cycle of heating and cooling in smectic A phase, is effective in suppressing an alignment (orientation) irregularity due to the presence of two regions different in characteristics, thus improving a drive margin.

摘要: A controller controls a termination time of an application of a voltage to an electro-developing recording medium such that an image can be recorded and developed with optimum contrast. The controller has a power source for applying a voltage to the medium, a transparency sensor for detecting a transparency of the medium, and a differentiator for differentiating a value of the detected transparency. The controller also has a comparator, a determiner, and a stopper. The comparator compares the differentiated value with a predetermined threshold level. The determiner determines whether or not the differentiated value is greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold level. The stopper stops the application of the voltage to the medium when the determiner determines the differentiated value is greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold level.

摘要: A hydrogen absorbing alloy is provided which is increased in reaction rate without being restricted in composition and which is unimpaired in the reversibility of reaction and hydrogen absorption-desorption cycle life characteristics. The alloy contains the phase of an intermetallic compound of the composition A5T19 wherein A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Nd, Mm (misch metal), Y, Gd, Ca, Mg, Ti, Zr and Hf, and T is at least one element selected from the group consisting of B, Bi, Al, Si, Cr, V, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sn and Sb. The alloy is produced by mixing together an alloy containing an AT3 phase and an alloy containing an AT4 phase, mechanically alloying the mixture to form the phase of intermetallic compound of the composition A5T19 in addition to the AT3 and AT4 phases, and subsequently mixing together or mechanically alloying the resulting alloy and an alloy containing AT5 phase.

摘要: A circuit delay optimizing apparatus, includes an information input unit with a logic synthesizer unit that receives, from a layout unit, layout information after completion of layout of a circuit to be changed and wiring and wiring delay information represented by wiring capacitances and fan-out numbers of individual wiring lines. A circuit change portion searching unit searches the layout information to determine a circuit change on the basis of the wiring delay information. Wiring delay information after a circuit change is determined with respect to the change portion of the circuit, through a predetermined technique. A wiring capacitance after the circuit change is calculated by using a function of a fan-out number after the circuit change, a fan-out number before the circuit change and a wiring capacitance before the circuit change. A wiring delay time is calculated from the calculated wiring capacitance by using a predetermined function and the calculated delay time is used to determine if it is an improvement over the delay time before the circuit change. A circuit changing unit changes the circuit change portion only after an improvement is determined.

摘要: An electro-developing type still video camera which uses an electro-developing recording medium, has an image-sensor which optically and electronically senses a developed image as a single-frame of image data from the medium. Also included is a memory device having a plurality of data-storage sections, in one of which the single-frame of image data can be stored whenever the developed image of the medium is sensed. A first image-data transferring device transfers a single-frame of image data from a selected one of the sections of the memory device to an external processing device when such a single-frame of image data is stored in the selected section. A second image-data transferring device transfers a single-frame of image data sensed by the image-reader to the external processing device when a single-frame of image data is not stored in the selected section.

摘要: An electro-developing type camera uses an electro-developing recording medium, and has a determiner for determining whether the electro-developing recording medium has been recorded on or not when being loaded in the camera, and a selector for selecting one of a photographing mode and an image-reading mode as an operation mode of the camera. A photographing operation is executed in the photographing mode to record and develop an optical image in the electro-developing recording medium. An image-reading operation is executed in the image-reading mode to read the developed image of the electro-developing recording medium. The photographing mode is selected by the selector when the determiner determines that the electro-developing recording medium has not been recorded, and the image-reading mode is selected by the selector when the determiner determines that the electro-developing recording medium has been recorded.

摘要: A liquid crystal device is constituted by a pair of substrates each having thereon at least an electrode and an alignment control layer, and a liquid crystal composition disposed between the substrates. At least one of the alignment control layers has a thickness of at most 200 .ANG. or comprises polyimide. In the latter case, the pair of substrates have been subjected to mutually different aligning treatments. The liquid crystal composition comprises at least one species of a fluorine-containing mesomorphic compound in an amount of at least 70 wt. % comprising a fluorocarbon terminal portion and a hydrocarbon terminal portion, the terminal portions being connected with a central core, and having smectic mesophase or latent smectic mesophase, and comprises at least one species of a resistivity-modifying substance. The fluorine-containing mesomorphic compound comprises a compound having a fluorocarbon terminal portion containing at least one catenary ether oxygen atom in an amount of at least 30 wt. % based on the liquid crystal composition. The liquid crystal device is effective in improving switching characteristics, an alignment characteristic and display performances while retaining a bookshelf structure or a near bookshelf structure with respect to a smectic layer structure.
