    摘要: A conveyor for guiding and conveying a plurality of sheet-shaped thin plates in rows arranged side by side to a welding position at which ends of the adjacent thin plates are butted and welded to each other, includes a plurality of conveying paths, which are adjacent to each other, having different conveying surfaces which are placed on a same horizontal plane, and a guide unit disposed between the adjacent two conveying paths for guiding the thin plates on one of the conveying paths with respect to another one thereof toward the welding position. Each of the conveying paths is composed of a plurality conveying rollers, and the guide unit includes guide rollers each having a guide surface for guiding the thin plate on the one of the conveying paths in a state that the thin plate on the one conveying path is partially depressed with respect to the another one of the conveying path.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for extracting collagen from calcified tissue without a prior decalcification step. The method may be used with calcified tissues such as fish skin with scales, alligator skeletons, and crustacean exoskeletons. It does not require the use of EDTA. When fish skin is used that contains substantial quantities of scales, it is not necessary first to remove scales from the skin before conducting the extraction of collagen.

    摘要: An image reading apparatus includes a platen which is set at an image reading position, a loading guide portion which is arranged upstream in a convey direction of an original to be adjacent to the platen and guides the original to an upper surface of the platen, a scoop-up guide portion which is arranged downstream in the convey direction of the original to be adjacent to the glass platen and guides a leading edge of the original, which has passed through the platen, by scooping up, a convey guide portion which is arranged to oppose the platen and scoop-up guide portion, to form a convey path between the convey guide portion and both of the platen and the scoop-up guide portion, a support portion which supports the convey guide portion to be slidable parallel to the platen, and a regulating portion which is arranged between the convey guide portion and the scoop-up guide portion to hold a constant gap between the convey guide portion and the scoop-up guide portion.

    摘要: A projection type displaying apparatus with a movable built-in screen has an image display, an image projector and a position detector for detecting a position where the built-in screen is installed. When the position detector determines that the built-in screen is in an image projection pass, the focus of the image projector is adjusted on the built-in screen and the image projector projects the image onto the built-in screen. When the position detector determines that the built-in screen is out of the image projection pass, the focus of the image projector is adjusted on an external screen and the image projector automatically projects the image onto the external screen.
