    摘要: In a method and apparatus for controlling a combustion engine, a digital computer is adapted to calculate first and second values corresponding to optimal settings of fuel injectors and spark plugs in a time sequence by detecting changes of the amount of air flowing into the engine and the rotation speed of the engine. The computer is programmed to calculate the first and second values from first and second functions describing desired relationships among each setting of the fuel injectors and the spark plugs, the amount of air flowing into the engine and the rotation speed of the engine. An electronic control circuit in the form of a timer is coupled with the digital computer for generating an electric control signal with a predetermined period of time in response to the setting of the spark plugs and applying the control signal to the computer to halt the calculation of the first value during the predetermined period of time even if the computer is conditioned to calculate the first value, the remaining calculation of the first value being subsequently performed after lapse of the predetermined period of time.

    摘要: In response to the input signal corresponding to the rotational speed of an internal combustion engine, a first read-only memory generates a binary coded signal indicative of the corresponding preliminarily written ignition retard angle from a predetermined angular position of the engine crankshaft, and in response to the input signal corresponding to the intake manifold vacuum a second read-only memory generates a binary coded signal indicative of the corresponding preliminarily written ignition retard angle. The output signals of the read-only memories are added together by an adder. A comparator compares the output signal of the adder with the number of clock pulses corresponding to the rotational angle of the crankshaft, and the ignition timing is determined by the output of the comparator.

    摘要: An ignition device for an internal combustion engine has a DC power source, first and second switching elements, a control signal generator for the switching elements, an ignition coil, and spark gaps. A first part of a primary coil of the ignition coil, a capacitor, the DC power source, and the first switching element form a closed circuit. A second part of the primary coil and the second switching element form another closed circuit. The signal generator generates ON signals for alternately turning on the first and second switching signals at predetermined timings based on an ignition command signal. The ignition performance of this ignition device for an internal combustion engine is improved.

A stationary coreless coil for generating a magnetic field in response to a control current therethrough is mounted in the housing. A permanent magnet is affixed to a rotatably mounted shaft within the coil, and a return spring is attached to the rotating shaft. Due to low hysteresis in the coreless coil, there is a linear relationship between the control current and the fluid flow.
