    Abstract: A solenoid-actuated valve includes a solenoid portion extending along a longitudinal axis. The solenoid portion includes a solenoid housing defining a solenoid interior, a coil, and an armature, with the armature being moveable along the longitudinal axis in response to energization of the coil. The solenoid-actuated valve also includes a valve portion coupled to the solenoid portion. The valve portion includes a valve member moveable by the armature. The solenoid-actuated valve further includes a valve filter disposed in the solenoid interior and/or coupled to the solenoid housing and configured to separate the solenoid interior from a hydraulic circuit when the valve portion is coupled to a valve housing for allowing fluid to flow into and out of the solenoid interior upon actuation of the armature.

    Abstract: A hydraulic tensioner for an internal combustion engine for tensioning a span of a chain or a belt has a piston with an internal reservoir connected to a high pressure chamber through a check valve assembly. The check valve assembly has a disk seat formed by an internal bulge within the piston; a check valve retainer within the piston, and a moveable disk that is received between the disk seat formed by the internal bulge and the check valve retainer and is moveable between a first position and a second position, and a check valve spring that is received between the check valve disk and the check valve retainer.

    Abstract: A bearing housing for a turbocharger is presented. The bearing housing comprises a bearing housing body configured to receive a rotor shaft along a longitudinal axis of the bearing housing body. The bearing housing further comprises a hub connected to the bearing housing body and defining an opening into the bearing housing body, wherein the opening is configured to receive a rotor shaft bearing.     Abstract: A rotatable inner race is disclosed. The inner race may include a plurality of arcuate segments each having a first end with a first end geometry and a second end with a second end geometry. The first and second end geometries may be complimentary to each other to join adjacent arcuate segments at an interlocking joint. The rotatable inner race may further include a plurality of race engagement notches extending radially from an outer circumferential surface of each arcuate segment and the plurality of arcuate segments are joined together at the interlocking joints to form a race ring and the plurality of race engagement notches of each arcuate segment align with one another to define an array of race engagement notches around an outer circumference of the race ring.

    Abstract: A linkage extends between an actuator and a valve in a turbocharger. The linkage comprises two spaced member bodies having central portions with opposing curved shapes that extend between ends translatable along and rotatable about spaced pivots. Translation of one member toward the other member compresses the central portions, increasing overall stiffness of the linkage, and translation of one member away from the other member creates a gap between the central portions, allowing independent translation of the ends along the spaced pivots to compensate for misalignment between the actuator and the valve caused by heat and vibration. Another linkage extending between an actuator and a valve in a turbocharger includes two planar spaced member bodies extending between ends translatable along and rotatable about spaced pivots. The two member bodies have different thicknesses.

    Abstract: A permanently engaged starter system for use in a vehicle, with the vehicle including a crankshaft and an engine block, includes a dual-mass flywheel and a permanently engaged starter assembly. The dual-mass flywheel extends along an axis and has an inner diameter portion disposed about and adjacent the axis and an outer diameter portion disposed about the axis such that the inner diameter portion is disposed between the outer diameter portion and the axis. The permanently engaged starter assembly includes a one-way clutch and a ring gear. The one-way clutch extends along the axis and includes an inner member disposed about the axis and an outer member disposed about the inner member. The ring gear is rotatably coupled to the one-way clutch and is adapted to be rotatably coupled to the outer diameter portion of the dual-mass flywheel through the one-way clutch.
