    摘要: A function arithmetic unit which performs elementary operations at high speeds and which enables required memory capacity to be reduced. The function arithmetic unit includes a constant memory which stores a constant that corresponds to the number of successive iterative operations; a controller which causes addition or subtraction in the successive iterative operations; and arithmetic units which receive, as initial values, an argument of an elementary function value to be found and two constants determined depending upon the elementary functions to be found, and which subject these initial values to n iterative operations to produce elementary function values. A further arithmetic unit subjects the elementary function values to multiplication, addition, subtraction, or division, or a combination thereof, thereby to produce the thus obtained value.

    摘要: A natural circulation reactor includes a reactor pressure vessel, a cylindrical shroud disposed within the reactor pressure vessel to surround a reactor core and to extend to a position above the reactor core, and a coolant descending passage defined between the reactor pressure vessel and the shroud for allowing the coolant discharged from the top of the reactor core to be again supplied to the bottom of the reactor core. In such a natural circulation reactor, a liquid level of coolant in the coolant descending passage is adjusted on the basis of a reactor power request signal at a position below a liquid level of coolant in the shroud, and thus reactor power is controlled so that it may reach a predetermined reactor power by adjusting the liquid level of coolant in the coolant descending passage.

    摘要: Control rods are inserted into the core of a nuclear reactor in operation to shut down the reactor output. Before completion of entire control rod insertion, a high-temperature coolant flowing in piping for a reactor water clean-up system is sprayed into the space in the upper portion of the reactor vessel. As the space is under negative pressure, oxygen existing in the water droplets of the sprayed coolant is separated. After completion of entire control rod insertion, a residual heat removal system is operated. The spraying operation is discontinued and a low-temperature coolant cooled by a heat exchanger in the residual heat removal system is sprayed into said space. The coolant sprayed by said first spraying operation is not cooled by the heat exchanger in said residual heat removal system.

    摘要: An ultrasonic flaw detector for detecting any flaw existing in the inner peripheral corner section of the joint portion between the barrel of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel and each of a plurality of cylindrical nozzles projecting from the barrel, by means of an ultrasonic wave applied from the outer peripheral corner section of the joint portion. The flaw detector has a probe pivotable around an axis which is made to follow up the locus of the center of curvature in the rounded surface of the outer peripheral corner section during the movement of the probe around the nozzle. According to this arrangement, it is possible to achieve a full automatic and remote control of the flaw detector except the attaching and detaching of the same, and to facilitate the processing of the signals representing the result of the flaw detection.

    摘要: A condensation system for use in a power plant including a steam generator and steam turbine comprises at least one side stream condenser. The side stream condenser defines therein first and second hot wells with the first hot well receiving therein condensate produced by condensing steam exhausted from the steam turbine. A condensate pump device forcibly delivers the condensate through a condensate feed line having one end thereof connected to the first hot well and the other end communicating with the second hot well. A first purification device is provided in the condensate feed line to remove impurities from the condensate flowing therethrough. A main condensate pump device forcibly delivers the condensate through a main condensate feed line having one end thereof communicating with the condensate feed line and the other end connected to the steam generator. A second purification device is provided in the main condensate feed line downstream of the main condensate pump device, for removing impurities from the condensate introduced into the steam generator through the main condensate feed line.
