    摘要: Control rods are inserted into the core of a nuclear reactor in operation to shut down the reactor output. Before completion of entire control rod insertion, a high-temperature coolant flowing in piping for a reactor water clean-up system is sprayed into the space in the upper portion of the reactor vessel. As the space is under negative pressure, oxygen existing in the water droplets of the sprayed coolant is separated. After completion of entire control rod insertion, a residual heat removal system is operated. The spraying operation is discontinued and a low-temperature coolant cooled by a heat exchanger in the residual heat removal system is sprayed into said space. The coolant sprayed by said first spraying operation is not cooled by the heat exchanger in said residual heat removal system.

    摘要: In operation of a boiling water-type, atomic power plant, rated operation is conducted while adjusting the pH of core water in the nuclear reactor to 7.0 to 8.5 by adding an alkali thereto, thereby controlling dissolution of radioactive corrosion products attached to fuel rods into the core water. An increase in the radioactive corrosion products in the core water and in the dose rate can be prevented.

    摘要: Surfaces of the structural components of a nuclear power plant exposed to reactor water are wetted with an electroless plating solution containing an electrical insulating substance. The electrical insulating substance has a high resistivity about 105 (100000) times those of the structural components of the nuclear power plant or above. A metal film containing the electrical insulating substance is formed on the surfaces of the structural components exposed to the reactor water by wetting the surfaces of the structural components with the electroless plating solution. Thus, the electrochemical corrosion potential of the structural components is reduced regardless of whether hydrogen is injected into the reactor water.

    摘要: At the time of starting up a nuclear reactor, the concentration of oxidizing substance in a cooling water in a reactor pressure vessel is decreased by evacuating the pressure vessel or replacing air in the vessel with an inert gas for a long time, below a predetermined level before the cooling water is heated to a temperature of 150.degree. C., thereby preventing the occurrence of stress corrosion cracking.
