    摘要: A composition includes a polymethacrylimide polymer which is polymerized in the presence of an epoxy resin and a flame-inhibiting agent. Further, a process is described for making flame-resistant polymethacrylimide, which includes mixing an epoxy resin and a flame-inhibiting agent with a methacrylic acid and methacrylonitrile, and polymerizing. A polymethacrylimide foam so prepared has an LOI value of at least 25 and retains the good mechanical properties that are associated with polymethacrylimide foams.

    摘要: Thermoplastically processible elastomers based on acrylates, which contain 40-100 wt. % of one or more comb polymers having a molecular weight greater than 50,000 Dalton, comprised of:(A) 5-50 wt. % of macromonomers comprised of methyl methacrylate or copolymers of methyl methacrylate with comonomers chosen from other (meth)acrylic acid esters and styrenes;containing a terminal unit with a radically polymerizable group and having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 60.degree. C., a molecular weight in the range 500-100,000 Dalton, and an index of refraction in the range n.sub.D =1.48-1.50;(B) 5-90 wt. %, based on the total weight of the comb polymer, of monomers or monomer mixtures of formula I: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 -alkyl group; and (C) 5-50 wt. % based on the total weight of the comb polymer, of a phenyl group-containing radically polymerizable monomer.

C., which under conditions of orientation displays optical birefringence, may be manufactured into a flat strip with smooth finished surfaces, to yield a strip which has characteristics as follows:optical birefringence path difference less than or equal to 50 nm (single pass);low surface roughness;low variation in thickness; by extrusion of the plastic in a thermoplastic state, through a slot nozzle;wherein during or after the smoothing of the two surfaces one of the surfaces of the strip is cooled to below the glass transition temperature, while the other surface and the predominant part of the interior region of the strip remain in the thermoplastic state and the strip is cooled to below the glass transition temperature, under conditions which minimize the deforming forces on the surfaces of the extruded strip.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a plasma generator which can generate a localized plasma. To localize the plasma, a low pressure plasma generator, containing a vacuum chamber and at least one microwave radiation source, which does not by itself produce a field strength sufficient to form plasma in the vacuum chamber, is equipped with at least one aerial for the radiation of microwaves. This at least one aerial acts as a secondary radiator in the vacuum chamber and can generate a localized plasma at its free tips.
