    摘要: A device for cutting pipe comprising two sleeves, which sleeves are securely tensionable about a pipe and adjacent to each other. An axial cleft remains exposed between the two sleeves, in which lies the cutting line. A chain type pipe cutter runs upon the sleeves, the cutting disks of the pipe cutter engaging the pipe between the sleeves and severing the pipe. The rollers of the cutting disks are supported by the sleeves, whereby the cutting depth is limited. Further, support bearing rollers support the chain type pipe cutter upon the sleeves. The device is economical and makes possible the cutting of pipes even of minimal form stability without deforming the pipes.

    摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for cutting a sheet of material into a plurality of segments having curved edges. A sheet of material is placed on a frame having a horizontal support member. A clamping device secures the sheet and a first mechanism moves the clamping device and sheet in an axial direction. A cutting head assembly is provided with a passively rotatable knife adapted to cut the sheet as the sheet moves in an axial direction past the knife. The cutting head assembly is rotatable about a vertical axis and movable in a lateral direction perpendicular to the axial motion of the sheet. A second mechanism moves the cutting head assembly in said lateral direction, and a third mechanism rotates the cutting head assembly. To produce a continuous cutting line, a controller sends a signal to the first, second, and third moving mechanisms which simultaneously moves the corresponding components at a desired rate and distance.

    摘要: The invention provides a punch press and shearing tool which operate to provide a series of cuts linked end-to-end for severing a work piece such as a piece of sheet metal. The shearing tool includes first and second elongated, cooperating cutting blades. Each of the blades has a pair of slidably related faces that slide against one another in a plane of reciprocation. The cutting edges are oriented at a small angle, e.g. 2.degree. to 6.degree., relative to one another to sever a piece of sheet stock progressively along a line with a scissor action. An intermittent work piece advancing motor shifts the work piece toward the cutting blades and parallel to the cut when the blades are apart. Gripping members can be yieldably mounted adjacent the cutting blades to grasp and forcefully hold the work piece in place as one blade moves toward the other. Yieldable stripper members on opposite sides of the second blade engage and independently deal with the stock on opposite sides of the cut.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for cutting corrugated webs from a strip which is continuously formed to define undulating fins or corrugations extending transversely of the strip. The method and apparatus comprise periodically interrupting the movement of the corrugated strip, spreading a corrugation in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the strip and severing the corrugation at the spread corrugation and the apex of the corrugation. More specifically the corrugated strip is interrupted, the adjacent corrugations are moved longitudinally relative one another to locate the corrugation to be cut and a cutter is moved between the adjacent apices to cut the connecting oppositely disposed apex. In one form adjacent apices are engaged and spread apart. In another form, a finger engages a side of a corrugation to position the corrugation to be cut.

    摘要: The vertically reciprocal upper blade assembly of a sheet metal squaring shear is activated in a substantially vertical path past a fixed lower blade by means of one or more reciprocal rotary hydraulic actuators. The output drive shaft of the hydraulic actuator(s) is connected to one or more drive straps by an eccentric cam which is keyed to the drive shaft and rotatably received within the straps. The horizontal gap between the upper blade and the lower blade is precisely controlled by suspending the blade supporting gib bracket from pins on the side walls of the apparatus housing and adjustably connecting the gib plate to the pins by eccentric cams. The gib mounting system also provides for adjusting the angle of the upper blade with respect to the lower blade. An improved hold down assembly limits the stroke of the hold down pins to maintain a slight clearance between the hold down pins and the bed surface at all times. A unique hydraulic actuator mounting bracket facilitates alignment of the actuator with the drive shaft by permitting adjustment of the actuator relative to the shaft after the shaft is properly mounted and aligned in the machine frame.
