摘要： A pinch roller assembly for use in a video cassette recorder, which comprises: a pinch roller, a supporting shaft provided with a cylindrical section and a spherical portion protruding therefrom, a sleeve having an upper section, a lower section and a contact section joining them together, and a bush provided with a tapered surface. The spherical portion of the supporting shaft comes into a loose contact with the contact section of the sleeve and the tapered surface of the bush, and there exist gaps between the cylindrical section of the supporting shaft and the upper section of the sleeve and between the cylindrical section of the supporting shaft and the inner surface of the bush, respectively, to thereby allow the pinch roller to pivot about the spherical portion of the supporting shaft and to realign itself to be parallel with respect to a capstan shaft while it presses against a capstan shaft.

摘要： A paper transport system includes an apparatus for controlling movement of the sheets along the predetermined course to provide sheet buffering. The apparatus includes first and second friction surfaces mounted for movement in orbital paths on opposite sides of the predetermined course in opposed relationship to define a nip through which the paper sheets pass. A selectively operable drive is provided for independently controlling the movement of the first and second friction surfaces, and the first friction surface has a coefficient of friction with the paper sheets which is greater than the coefficient of friction of the second surface with the paper sheets which is in turn greater than the coefficient of friction between the paper sheets.

摘要： Position registration of sheets in a feed path is achieved without guides or gates. Laterally separated drive rolls are speed controlled to correct for skew mispositioning. Lateral registration is achieved by translation of the drive rolls transversely to the direction of sheet movement. Longitudinal registration is controlled by varying the speeds of the drive rollers equally. The system reduces the required paper path length to achieve correct registration, thereby allowing higher speed operation.

摘要： A machine slows down a series of sheets which are conveyed in close spaced succession to each other by conveying the sheets between a pair of rolls defining a gap of predetermined size therebetween. The rolls are disposed with their axes transverse to the direction of travel of the sheets and are rotated at a peripheral speed less than the speed at which the sheets are conveyed into the gap between the rolls. A mechanism is provided for moving the rolls to close the gap and bring the rolls into contact with the sheet whereupon the speed of the sheet is reduced.
