The device for decelerating at least the closing rotation of a furniture hinge, comprises a container housing a first rotating friction element in contact at a first friction surface with the bottom of the container, a second fixed friction element overlapped to the first rotating friction element with which it is in contact at a second friction surface, and at least a third rotating friction element overlapped to the second fixed friction element with which it is in contact with at least a third friction surface, constraint means between the first friction element and the third friction element, a slider movable along a direction of translation at least during closing rotation and kinematic means for conversion of the translation of the slider into a rotation of the first and third friction element in such a manner as to create a dragging friction at the first, second and third friction surface.

A sliding door with reversible hand configurations can include a plurality of mounting locations along a top and a bottom edge thereof. The plurality of mounting locations can be configured to allow the sliding door to selectively hang and operate according to multiple orientations in order to satisfy site-specific handedness requirements. In one implementation, the sliding door includes a door frame and mounting hardware for selectively mounting the sliding door to a roller track affixed near the upper portion of a doorway.

The invention is based on the object of driving a trunk lid or hard or soft tops of a vehicle by a motor as efficiently and as economically as possible. Typically a hydraulic cylinder having very high energy density, or an electromechanical spindle drive, generally provided with a planetary gear as is known from DE 10 2004 040 170 A 1, is used today. Said arrangement has the disadvantage that the transmission comprises several wheels in order to enable an accordingly high gear ratio for the required slow rotational movement of the spindle. In the process, a loud operating noise is produced. The invention relates to a linear drive having a high-ratio single-step manual transmission and the possibility of integrating an energy storage, for example a helical spring or a gas pressure spring, and the possibility of integrating a hydraulic brake. The invention is particularly suitable for driving a cover or panels/doors/tops/moveable hardtops or other moveable components on vehicles, on other mobile systems or on stationary devices. It is supported on the vehicle body or the stationary device and on the cover or the moveable element, which in turn is rotatably connected to a hinge on the vehicle body or the stationary device.

A hinge, particularly for movable pieces of furniture, has at least two stop parts connected in an articulated manner (which is to say a hinge arm and a hinge cup) for fastening to pieces of furniture. The hinge has a damping device for damping the hinge movement, and has a restoring mechanism, by which an actuating element of the damping device can be moved into a starting position for the next damping stroke after damping has taken place. The damping device and the restoring mechanism are disposed as separate components on the hinge cup. The damping device, which has no restoring mechanism, is disposed on a lateral wall of the hinge cup, and the restoring mechanism is disposed on an opposing lateral wall of the hinge cup.
