The tank includes an inner gas tight liner and an outer support layer that provides the structural integrity. The connection assembly includes a boss positioned within an opening of the support layer. The inner liner includes a neck portion extending through an internal bore of the boss having an outer collar or flange at an outside surface of the boss. A tank valve is bolted to the boss at an outer perimeter of the collar where a portion of the tank valve extends through the neck portion of the liner and into the tank.

    摘要: A tube seal for a pressure vessel includes a body, a seal groove and a tube retention collar. The body has an aperture formed therein for receiving a tube. The body also has an external surface and an internal surface. The seal groove is disposed in the external surface of the body for securing the body within an orifice formed in a wall of the pressure vessel. The tube retention collar is disposed on the internal surface of the body for engaging the tube and securing the tube within the tube seal. Pressure within the pressure vessel causes the body to deform about and engage the tube retention collar with the tube to secure the tube within the aperture.

    摘要: A new and improved high pressure post valve used to control the flow of high pressure gas, e.g., oxygen, from a high pressure gas cylinder. More particularly, the improvements are directed to three different inventive embodiments: (1) manufacturing the post valve from cylindrical metal bar stock to contain a unitary valve body having an integral valve body seat ring for seating against gas cylinder structure, thereby preventing gas leakage between the valve body and the valve body seat ring; (2) providing the post valve with a valve actuator having an annular valve seat, surrounding a valve cavity, and disposing a deformable valve seat material in position to surround a gas inlet orifice for sealing contact with the annular actuator valve seat for sealing in an area surrounding the gas inlet orifice to prevent direct contact of high pressure inlet gas against the valve seat material; and (3) disposing of filter within a gas inlet orifice of the post valve to remove any solids entrained in the high pressure gas to prevent solids from contacting the valve actuator.

    摘要: An annular fitting recess is formed circumferentially in the exterior of a tank body in the vicinity of the boundary between a dome section and a cylindrical gas discharge section of the tank body. A cylindrical reinforcing collar is fitted onto the cylindrical gas discharge section of the tank body to fit an annular boss of the reinforcing collar in the fitting recess of the tank body and then engaged integrally on the exterior of the tank body between the cylindrical gas discharge section and the dome section by shrinkage. This provides easily and inexpensively a high-pressure tank capable of withstanding high pressures of 35 to 75 MPa while keeping its lightness in weight.

    摘要: A steel-body vessel, suitable for storing ultra-high purity gases, has a relatively inert metal lining which covers the interior surface of the steel vessel body, preventing the stored gas from making any contact and reacting with the steel vessel body. The relatively inert metal lining extends into the vessel end pieces which are interiorly threaded, in the steel, proximate the relatively inert metal lining. The surface of the inert metal lining is conditioned to be smooth, preferably to 15 nullRa or better. The vessel end pieces are sealed with end closure devices, which are secured by a securing portion carrying exterior threads to matingly engage the interior threads on the vessel end pieces. The end closure devices contain a sealing portion constructed of the relatively inert metal, which retains an annular sealing gland to seal the vessel in a removable, non-contaminating manner at service pressures when the end closure device is seated within the vessel end piece by means of the securing portion.

    摘要: An improved container is formed by attaching plates to outer side surface areas on opposite end portions of a liner with adhesive. The liner is supported for rotation about an axis which extends through the end portions of the liner and through the plates. The liner is rotated under the influence of torque transmitted to the liner through at least one of the plates and the adhesive attaching the one plate to the liner. Flexible material, which may be strands of continuous glass fibers impregnated with a thermosetting resin, is wound around the liner. As the flexible material is wound around the liner, the flexible material is wound over the plates at the opposite end portions of the liner. The surface areas, to which the plates are attached at opposite ends of the liner, are free of openings to the interior of the liner.

    摘要: This pressurized-gas storage assembly includes a pressure vessel having a gas storage chamber and access opening, a polar boss extending through the access opening, a plastic liner lining the gas storage chamber, and a fitting body. The plastic liner includes a nipple portion that extends into the polar boss, terminates at an annular rim, and has a screw-threaded radially inner surface region. The fitting body includes a head portion, an extension longitudinally extending from an end of the head portion and having a screw-threaded radially outer surface region, and an annular shoulder. The annular shoulder has an annular recess formed therein, with a compressible O-ring being accommodated within the annular recess. By inserting the extension through the access opening and positioning the screw-threaded radially outer surface region of the extension into mechanical engagement with the screw-threaded radially inner surface region of the nipple portion, the O-ring is compressed between the annular shoulder of the fitting body and the annular rim of the liner. As a consequence, the O-ring is compressed and a hermetic seal is established between the inner liner and the fitting body, thereby preventing escape of stored compressed gas through the access opening.
