    摘要: Systems, methods and devices which utilize Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometry (SSTDR) techniques to measure degradation of electronic components are provided. Such measurements may be implemented while the components “live” or otherwise functioning within an overall system. In one embodiment, monitoring a power converter in a high power system is accomplished. In this embodiment, degradation of components within the power converter (e.g. metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs), capacitors, insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), and the like) may be monitored by processing data from reflections of an SSTDR signal to determine changes in impedance, capacitance, or any other changes that may be characteristic of components degrading. For example, an aging MOSFET may experience an increase of drain to source resistance which adds additional resistance to a current path within a power converter. Such a change is able to be analyzed monitored upon processing the reflected test signals.

According to the method, information relating to switching states of at least three drivers of a contactor is stored, with information relating to respective associated desired values of at least one predefinable parameter, in a computer-readable memory. Actual switching states of at least some of the drivers are detected with associated actual values and are compared with the stored desired values in order to diagnose the drivers. A fault is diagnosed if at least one actual value differs from a desired value.

A ground switch that electrically connects the return line to a ground potential when the ground switch is in the closed state is momentarily opened, and one or more sensor signals are checked to determine if the sensor signals change as expected when the ground switch is opened. If a value change of a sensor signal is less than a threshold value when the ground switch is switched from the closed state to the open state, then a short to ground condition of the return line is indicated.

    摘要: Fault detection of electric consumers in motor vehicles including at least one electric consumer switchably arranged between a first electric potential and a second electric potential. The electric consumer is switchably connected both to the first and to the second potential. A first switch is arranged between the first potential and the consumer and a second switch is arranged between the second potential and the consumer. The first and the second switch must be closed at the same time in order to operate the consumer. Fault detection is carried out when the device consuming the electricity is visibly off, in that a third electric potential is tapped at a voltage divider arranged parallel to the second switch. Fault detection is carried out by monitoring the third electric potential and the positions of the first and second switches.
